IT IS hard to believe that Andre Fabre only has one Investec Derby success to his credit but Cloth Of Stars can double the master French handler's tally and justify his supplementary fee with victory in today's Epsom Classic.

Fabre and jockey Mickael Barzalona teamed up to take home the spoils with Pour Moi five years ago and Cloth Of Stars certainly boasts a similar profile to that horse.

The Sea The Stars colt showed some classy form as a juvenile, when he actually achieved far more than Pour Moi did in winning a Group Three event as placing in Group One company.

His preparation this term is also familiar territory for Fabre and Barzalona, having contested the Prix la Force and Prix Greffulhe in anticipation of this Classic engagement.

Cloth Of Stars won both of those events with the minimum of fuss, creating a particularly favourable impression when reversing previous form with Robin Of Navan in the Greffulhe.

Fabre then brought him over for a spin round Epsom at the Breakfast With The Stars event – another tool from Pour Moi's build-up – and Barzalona was pleased enough in his handling of the track.

While he is stepping into the unknown over 12 furlongs, Cloth Of Stars looks likely to excel over this kind of trip and he has shown he can handle good ground or softer, another factor which could prove key given the recent wet weather.

The fact that connections felt compelled to stump up £75,000 to add him to the race speaks volumes about his perceived ability and it would be little surprise to see Fabre strike gold again with today's nap selection.

Of the others, Deauville can run him close, while Across The Stars is worth an each-way punt for old allies Sir Michael Stoute and Kieren Fallon.

Meanwhile, POSTPONED is hard to oppose in the Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Cup, having proven his capability on a variety of conditions.

Trained by Luca Cumani last term, he showed testing conditions were little bar to success in winning an admittedly below-par renewal of the King George at Ascot before going on to lift the Prix Foy at Longchamp.

His Arc bid was scuppered by a late switch to Roger Varian's yard but he roared back into action in the spring, winning the Dubai City Of Gold before following up in the Sheema Classic.

Quicker ground would likely be more up his street but Postponed can be relied upon to put his best foot forward here under Andrea Atzeni.

SAYANA can make it a memorable day for the French raiding party by taking home the prize in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes.

Trained by Alain de Royer-Dupre, and ridden today by Christophe Soumillon, the four-year-old has won each of her three starts this term and can take the leap up to Group Three company in her stride following a recent Listed win at Chantilly.

SEEKING MAGIC can atone for his controversial disqualification at Goodwood last time by winning the Investec Corporate Banking "Dash".

He was judged to have caused serious interference to third-placed Huntsmans Close that day, with the stewards ruling he should be placed behind that one in third.

Seeking Magic made every yard that day and that running style could well suit at this particularly quick sprint venue. Oisin Murphy has the ride.

Musselburgh also has a big day of action – with BLAKENEY POINT taken to strike in the Edinburgh Gin Edinburgh Cup, while TAHOO should go close in the ebfstallions.com Edinburgh Castle Stakes.

CLOVELLY BAY is the choice in Doncaster's Ladbrokes Handicap, with AFLAME a likely type for Sir Michael Stoute in the 188Bet Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Lingfield.

They race over the sticks at Hexham, with LINGER taken to land the totetrifecta Pick The 1st, 2nd & 3rd Juvenile Hurdle. SPORTING MILAN is fancied in the first division of Worcester's Raceday Is Wrights Pie Day Maiden Hurdle.
