THE final meeting of the Yorkshire point-to-point season takes place at Howe Hills, Morden tomorrow.

Racing starts with an Open Maiden for four, five and six year olds, run over the shorter distance of 2m 4f.

And this could be Mafate Fortin’s chance to get his head in front. Having gone very close last time out and been a bit unlucky this season, he will prefer the quicker ground.

Tree Sparrow is very unexposed and finished fourth on his only start of the season but could be the main danger if he has learnt enough from that experience.

Executive’s Hall can overcome his 7lb penalty in the Hunt members race to take this contest for the meeting secretary Sarah Dent.

She also has Up To Scratch entered, who has run well, but Executive’s Hall would have the edge. Kilmacallogue Bay has again been ultra-consistent this season and could be the main challenger.

My Old Piano continues to be in good heart at the age of 14 and could go close in the Men’s Open race.

Rosie Du Berlais has finished in the frame each time this season and could be the main challenger on fast ground.

Billing could go close again if he turns out six days after his latest win, and Viacometti is another who could be in the shake up.

It would be a delight to see course specialist Oaklands Bobby, another 14-year-old, take the Ladies Open.

The good-looking stalwart has been second twice on his only starts this season and can go close again on a course he loves.

Probably George finished second last time out and is another who could be in the mix.

Anddante has gone well at this course in the past and, following his recent second, could go close again in the restricted race.

Barton Jubilee has had a good season on better ground and this short three miles is likely to suit. Jerusalem Bells is another with recent good form and it could be a close-run race.

Code Blue can go close in the Confined, having been in the frame on all his starts this season.

Know The Rules could be the main challenger and is in good heart having finished second recently at Easingwold.

Roll The Dice represents the in-form Jacqueline Coward yard and could chase them all the way to the line.

Racing finishes with the Open Maiden for which there are 12 entries. Dibble Bridge is the one that is likely to make the charge as he puts his season’s experience to good use.

Sundae Best finished third in his hunt race and is likely to find this slightly easier so could go close, while Midnight Milly – who was second last time at Witton – is likely to appreciate this course.

Admission is £10 per person with under 16s free. The postcode for satellite navigation is TS21 2HG.
