OAKLEY Girl has yet to live up to her pedigree in winning a maiden and two handicap events so far but can further enhance her statistics in the 32Red/EBF Stallions Breeding Fillies' Handicap at Kempton.

The four-year-old is related to the likes of Opera House, Kayf Tara and Necklace but looked as though she could struggle to build on her initial success in a Lingfield maiden last August as she hit the bar on her next three outings, including when fourth behind weekend winner Volunteer Point at Newmarket in October.

However, a return to the all-weather brought about a change in fortunes, with the Sir Percy filly triumphing by a head at Lingfield in November before bouncing back from a short break to claim a six-length verdict at Wolverhampton earlier this month.

She has been hiked 11lb in the handicap for that success but looks capable of defying her new mark, particularly as Stuart Williams' string has been in fine form of late. Oisin Murphy has the mount for today's Nap choice.

A visor seemed to help NORTRON focus his mind on the task in hand recently, so he is worth noting again as he sports the headgear in the Ladbrokes Handicap at Lingfield, with Murphy again on board.

One win in 11 starts is hardly the stuff of legends but he has shown promise on more than one occasion and his recent third at Chelmsford represents his best effort for a while.

Nortron is certainly not a stable star for Andrew Balding but should keep the Kingsclere fires burning nicely with a win here.

BORU'S BROOK is the pick in the Betfred Mobile Novices' Limited Handicap Chase at Newbury.

Jim Best's charge proved useful enough when winning two of his three starts over hurdles last term, although his final outing ended in disappointment as he was pulled up after losing his action when tried in slightly better company.

He showed no lasting effects from that experience when switched to fences at Wetherby in November, cruising home in the manner of a really decent recruit.

Bar a mistake at the last fence, Boru's Brook impressed with his jumping when making all that day, eventually coasting 15 lengths clear at the line.

That victory came on soft ground while his two hurdles wins came on heavy, so he should be more than capable of ploughing his way through the likely testing conditions here. Jamie Moore has the ride.

Moore also climbs aboard FRUITY O'ROONEY, who is undergoing something of a renaissance at present and is taken to lift the Betfred "Treble Odds On All Lucky 15's" Handicap Chase.

Rated as high as 145 in his pomp, the 13-year-old has steadily slipped down the ratings of late, allowing him to return to winning form at Ascot on his penultimate start back in November.

He could not quite follow up on that when only third at Lingfield last time – but the winner that day appeared to be favourably weighted and Fruity O'Rooney deserves plenty of credit for making the frame.

MIA'S STORM makes her Rules debut over jumps in the Betfred "January Sale" British Stallion Studs EBF Mares' "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle and she can waste no time in getting off the mark.

The six-year-old was a point-to-point winner last April and ran a fine race on her first start for trainer Alan King when second in a Listed bumper at Huntingdon last month.

King could likely have found easier options than this over hurdles for her, so the fact she takes her chance possibly speaks volumes. Wayne Hutchinson is the jockey.

As Musselburgh, SHREWD can prove just that under Ryan Day in the Loganbet Brechin Big Layers On Football Bets Handicap Hurdle.
