SHELLEY Birkett, forced to sit out the height of the summer season after fracturing her leg, is making up for lost time as we approach the end of the year and can chalk up her third winner in three weeks at Wolverhampton today.

Birkett, daughter of Newmarket trainer Julie Fielden, joined David O'Meara's North Yorkshire yard in the spring and teams up with her boss when she partners INNOCENTLY in the Daily Price Boosts Unibet Handicap.

The four-year-old is overdue a winning turn. Placed on this course and at Chelmsford, Innocently did not enjoy much luck on his visit to this venue, being hampered leaving the stalls, which cost him his winning chance. He stayed on late in the day to finish fifth, beaten less than three lengths, but the damage had already been done.

With a mid-field draw in this five-furlong dash, Innocently looks well berthed to make a bold bid for Birkett as she seeks to increase her 2015 tally to 15 winners. The combination is napped to oblige.

O'Meara also has good fortunes with HAZEL BLUE in the Download The Ladbrokes App Handicap (division one).

The four-year-old got home by a nose here three weeks ago. Off a 5lb higher mark, Hazel Blue commands respect again – especially as Josh Doyle, on board last time, retains the mount.

Malton jockey Tony Hamilton is only three winners shy of his maiden century in his best-ever campaign and MANIPURA has a fighting chance of inching him a step closer to his milestone target in the opening Download The New Unibet App Maiden Stakes.

The juvenile, trained by Derek Shaw, finished a fair third in similar company last time out. Having had only four races, in all, and two on an artificial surface, Manipura might be open to further improvement.

The Ladbrokes Handicap looks wide open but THATABOY promises to be firmly on the premises on behalf of Cheshire trainer Tom Dascombe.

Liam Keniry's mount finished a creditable third to the smart Corporal Maddox over this course and distance ten days ago. A similar effort would see him go close.

Keniry can also score on HERCULLIAN PRINCE in the Coral Connect Handicap. Connor Dore's gelding has been running well lately and is a previous winner on this course.

At Lingfield's jumps meeting, BAWDEN ROCKS looks interesting in the Download The Titabet Sports App Novices' Handicap Chase.

David Bridgwater's gelding has not been seen since gaining a fluent win over hurdles at Stratford in May. He now tackles fences for the first time.

He is assured to have been well schooled and, in a race that will not take a great deal of winning, he should go well under Tom Scudamore.

DANVINNIE should go well in the opening Money Back 2nd At titanbet.co.uk Novices' Hurdle.

Leighton Aspell's mount chased home Bon Enfant at Fontwell on his reappearance six weeks ago. Lightly-raced, Danvinnie is very much a work in progress for trainer Oliver Sherwood, who may have found him a winning opportunity here.

Trainer Chris Gordon's booking of Harry Cobden for recent winner SUPERCILIARY in the Racing Welfare Handicap Hurdle is a hint worth taking. Superciliary scooted home by ten lengths at Fontwell and has been raised 9lb by the handicapper.

Gordon's securing of Cobden, who is attached to the Paul Nicholls yard, means that the conditional rider can erase all but 2lb of that extra burden with his maximum claim. A follow-up success for Superciliary looks likely.

Also worth noting are DRUMACOO (2.10), who made a good impression over hurdles last season and who now tackles fences, and LITTLE ACORN (3.40), back in action after finishing third on her sole outing last season when she started favourite at Taunton.
