RACEHORSE owner Nicholas Wrigley, the former York racecourse chairman, can keep up his winning run at Redcar today with DARK DEVIL, who is fancied to oblige for Richard Fahey and Tony Hamilton.

Wrigley enjoyed a momentous day last Saturday at Ayr when he was represented by four Fahey-trained runners – all bearing 'Touch' in their names – owned in partnership by Kevin Hart.

Three of the quartet duly obliged – Another Touch, Right Touch and, most importantly, Don't Touch, who clinched the £180,000 William Hill Ayr Gold Cup to extend his winning sequence to five and maintain his unbeaten career record, having started out with a maiden success at Newcastle in May.

The Wrigley colours will be carried today by Dark Devil in the first division of the British Stallion Studs Maiden Stakes.

A good second at Chester on his debut, Dark Devil has since occupied the same runner-up position at Newcastle, again running with credit. A strong galloper, who will relish the expected ease in the ground, Dark Devil can add to Wrigley's purple patch.

Fahey has two runners in the Weatherbys Bank Foreign Exchange Nursery Handicap – Lady Turpin and Mister Zoff, who sound like a pair of characters from a romantic novel.

Preference, in a low-grade race which may not take a lot of winning, is for MISTER ZOFF, who will appreciate every yard of the one-mile trip and who did not shape too badly on his latest start at Musselburgh four weeks ago.

Ivan Furtado has made a good start to his training career and he can complete a hat-trick of wins with INSTILL in the Hold Your Christmas Party Here Handicap.

The mount of Silvestre de Sousa, the three-year-old has scored at Haydock and Windsor. There may be more to come from him as he's a lightly-raced horse with only five outings under his belt.

PERFECT PEAK is selected to return to winning ways in the Watch Racing UK Anywhere Handicap over six furlongs.

The Mick Easterby-trained three-year-old ran a solid race to finish fourth at Catterick last week over the minimum trip. It may suit her to now step up an extra furlong on ground which should be in her favour.

At Goodwood, HORS DE COMBAT may prove the answer to the Front Evens Foundation Stakes, which is the most valuable race on the card.

This £40,000 Listed event over a mile and a quarter could well be within the compass of James Fanshawe's talented four-year-old, who finished third to Balty Boys in Group 3 company at Haydock on his latest start over a mile having previously been a respectable fourth in the Group 2 Summer Mile at Ascot, won by Arod.

This step up in trip could eke out more improvement from him and he is awarded the nap vote.

Tom Marquand, who is proving a thorn in the side of North Yorkshire's Jack Garritty in the race for the apprentice championship, has a winning chance on SILVER QUAY in the £10,000 Caterers Day Handicap.

Richard Hannon's three-year-old found only Leoncetta too strong at Windsor last time when going down by just under a length. He has every chance of going one better here.

ART ECHO, who has shaped well in his two races to date, can make it third time lucky in the British Stallion Studs Maiden Stakes.

The mount of James Doyle, the juvenile has run sound races to be placed at Salisbury and Ascot and clearly possesses above-average ability.
