IT'S jackpot time at Doncaster today, a fact that has not escaped the attention of Richard Fahey.

The Malton trainer struck it rich 12 months ago in the Weatherbys Hamilton £300,000 2-Y-O Stakes with 14-1 shot Bond's Girl and is set to saddle six of the 22 runners in this afternoon's richly-endowed juvenile contest over an extended six furlongs.

The pick of Fahey's sextet is not patently obvious as all of them have chances on recent form. But it could well be that the only one who has not been in action for a while will come out on top.

GIN IN THE INN was developing into a useful juvenile earlier in the season before having a break. It is four months since he last ran but the form of his three races – a win at Leicester and two placed efforts at Newcastle and Pontefract – stacks up well.

He gets into this race as one of the bottom weights and will have the services of George Chaloner.

Gin In The Inn is not to be overlooked in a race which sess Fahey also saddle winning deubtante Appleton, the consistent Another Touch, Newmarket winner Holy Grail, Mr Lupton – narrowly beaten in the Weatherbys Super Sprint – and Haydock winner Firedanser.

All in all, the Musley Bank team gives Fahey another excellent chance of hitting the jackpot.

ALPINE DREAM, trained by William Haggas, can get punters off to a good start at the meeting.

She made a winning debut at Thirsk last month, overcoming greenness to score in likeable style. The form does not amount to a great deal but she enters the British Stallions Studs 'Carrie Red' Fillies' Nursery off a fair mark. Andrea Atzeni has the mount.

Paul Hanagan can lift the Japan Racing Association Sceptre Stakes on FADHAYYIL, trained by Barry Hills.

The three-year-old returned to winning form at York's Ebor Festival three weeks ago and looks capable of playing a strong hand in this Group 3 contest.

The DFS Park Hill Stakes, over the St Leger distance of an extended mile and three-quarters, is the target of VIVE MA FILLE and Mark Johnston's three-year-old is expected to go well under Joe Fanning.

This stout stayer has run some excellent races in defeat at Goodwood and Ascot on recent starts. She is entitled to make a bold bid here against her own gender.

The crownhotelbawtry.com Thoroughbred Breeders' Association Fillies' Handicap offers CALIFORNIA the chance to fulfill the promise she showed on her debut.

John Gosden's three-year-old scored over ten furlongs at Wetherby in July. She has a more challenging task ahead of her today but she appeals as a filly with plenty of potential and is not to be underestimated. Robert Havlin has the ride.

Gosden also introduces a well-bred newcomer in LINGUISTIC, who is worthy of attention in the DFS British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes, while David O'Meara may hold the key to the closing This Is The Ladbrokes Life Handicap.

The North Yorkshire trainer has three runners in this six-furlong dash – the pick of which may be MASTER BOND, the mount of James Doyle.

This afternoon's Epsom meeting includes the checkaprofesssional.com Jump Jockeys Derby Handicap, which offers riders from the National Hunt world the chance to ride in a Flat race over the famous Derby circuit.

Norton trainer Brian Ellison has sent SERENITY NOW down to run and the gelding will have the services of top northern jockey Brian Hughes, who enjoyed notable success on the Flat as an apprentice in Ireland before switching to the jumping game.
