THERE'S no better time for ladies to shine than this afternoon on ladies day at Thirsk and fillies All About Time and Another Royal are fancied to do just that on the eight-race card at the North Yorkshire course.

Trained by David O'Meara, ALL ABOUT TIME bids for the £10,000 Hambleton Cup in the hands of David Nolan. A good second at York on her penultimate outing, she went one better in pleasing fashion at Ripon last time over ten furlongs when proving she is very much at home on an easy surface.

The step up to a mile and a half today may eke out further improvement in All About Time, who is napped to defy a 5lb rise in her rating.

ANOTHER ROYAL, trained by Tim Easterby, lines up in the Barkers Of Northallerton Handicap and is selected to return to the winning groove.

Tony Hamilton's mount failed by only a head to beat Escrick over this distance of six furlongs at Newcastle last time. She has every chance of going one better, especially as she's nicely enough drawn in stall eight.

Malton-based Hamilton can also win the £12,500 Personal Touches Celebration Handicap on THIRD TIME LUCKY for Musley Bank trainer Richard Fahey.

Winner of his first three starts this season before failing to show his best form on an artificial surface, Third Time Lucky was beaten only half-a-length into fourth in a blanket finish in a competitive handicap at Goodwood on his latest start.

He is likely to be in the front-rank from the outset in this one-mile event and although this looks a tight race, Third Time Lucky will not go down without a fight.

Also worth noting at Thirsk are the hat-trick seeking BATHOS (3.05) and LOOKING GOOD (4.50), who makes her debut for David O'Meara on her first outing since May.

At Haydock, North Yorkshire trainers hold a strong hand in the featured £260,000 Betfred Sprint Cup but may be scuppered by a jockey well known to them.

Paul Hanagan teams up with the William Haggas-trained ADDAY, who holds strong claims.

Winner of a Group Two race over this course and distance in May, Adday added the Hungerford Stakes – another Group Two event – to his scoresheet on his latest start over seven furlongs at Newbury.

Returning to six furlongs should not inconvenience Adday, who is marginally preferred to a whole host of others in this prestigious Group One contest.

David O'Meara saddles G Force (yet to find his form this season but the winner of this race last year) and Watchable (a good fourth in France last time).

The powerful North Yorkshire raiding party is completed by David Barron's Pearl Secret, who is tried and trusted in this company, Richard Fahey's Eastern Impact, third in the Group One July Cup, and Tim Easterby's Mattmu, third in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York and sure to enjoy the step back up in trip now.

Add to that list of locals the unbeaten Twilight Son, winner of a valuable handicap for Henry Candy at York in mid-summer, and it's plain to see that this is a must-watch race. Adday is taken to win but he'll need to produce his 'A-game' to prevail.

In the Betfred Mobile Old Borough Cup, which carries £60,000 in prize money, GABRIAL'S STAR makes plenty of appeal.

George Chaloner's mount finished a close-up second to his stablemate Gabrial's King in a Listed handicap at Chester a fortnight ago and is a previous course-and-distance winner.

Also worthy of attention at Haydock are Brian Ellison's BALTY BOYS, narrowly beaten over seven furlongs in a top handicap at Ascot last month, who will be well suited to the step back up to a mile in the betfred.com Superior Mile.

Look out too for DAWN MISSILE, a fast-improving stayer, in the Betfred 'Be Part Of The Action' Handicap.
