DECLAN Carroll, whose fortunes have dramatically revived since he moved to Norton earlier this year, can add to his rising tally of winners at Thirsk this evening.

Previously based at Sledmere, Carroll mustered only five winners winners last season, after 25 the previous year, but he is already up to a dozen winners this term and MRS BIGGS is fancied to get him into the teens in the Green's Farm Supplies Dream Team Handicap.

The mount of able apprentice Phil Dennis, who has rattled-up a four-timer this summer on Carroll's Mysterial, Mrs Biggs was second to Red Unico on her latest start at Catterick, beaten less than a length. That was a step in the right direction for this three-year-old, who won on this course last season. She is selected to return to winning for her trainer, who sent out 25-1 shot Whozthecat to win at this venue recently.

PADDY POWER should be hard to beat in the British Stallion Studs Maiden Stakes.

Richard Fahey's colt has yet to get off the mark in three starts, but he has shown a useful level of ability, not least when narrowly beaten at Newcastle's Northumberland Plate meeting at the end of June. He is well drawn in this five furlong dash and is napped to come good under Tony Hamilton.

Mick Easterby may hold the key to the Calverts Carpets Handicap with BOWSON FRED.

Jimmy Sullivan's mount is not the most dependable of customers, and can be troublesome in the starting stalls, but is a pretty able horse in average sprinting company and there is every chance that, provided he does everything right here, he can be firmly in the mix.

Also worth noting at Thirsk are the promising MIDNIGHT MACCHIATO (6.30) and the consistent MININGROCKS (8.00), trained by Ruth Carr at Stillington and another of Sullivan's mounts.

Jack Garritty has been enjoying a terrific time lately and the North Yorkshire apprentice swerves Thirsk and heads to Ayr today. His long journey promises to be handsomely rewarded.

Garritty has good prospects of completing a treble for his Malton boss Richard Fahey on Normandy Knight, Milady Eileen and Mica Mika.

Little went right for NORMANDY KNIGHT at York last time and he is better judged on his wins at Beverley and Leicester. He is not to be underestimated in the Racing UK I Price 3 Devices Handicap.

MILADY EILEEN has been a model of consistency lately and went down fighting when runner-up at Pontefract on her latest start. She has every chance of resuming winning ways in the Racing UK Day Pass Handicap.

MICA MIKA has been a stalwart of the Fahey stable in recent seasons and has been in fine form again this term. He has top weight to carry in the Watch On 3 Devices racinguk.com/anywhere Handicap, but this does not look as challenging as some of the races he has contested and he is fancied to be up to the task.

ANNABEL is selected to get Ayr punters off to a good start in the British Stallion Studs Maiden Fillies' Stakes.

The juvenile was beaten only a short head by Notary on her debut at Goodwood 11 days ago. That race is likely to have benefited her and she should take plenty of beating this time in the hands of Joe Fanning.

Also worth noting are recent course-and-distance winner HAIDEES REFLECTION (2.30) and EDGAR BALTHAZAR (3.30), who is overdue a winning turn.

Today's selections - Ayr: 2.00 Anabel, 2.30 Haidees Reflection, 3.00 Normandy Knight, 3.30 Edgar Balthazar, 4.00 Lady Eileen, 4.30 Mica Mika, 5.00 Iftikaar.

Thirsk: 5.30 Chocolate Diamond, 6.00 Paddy Power (NAP), 6.30 Midnight Macchiato, 7.00 Bowson Fred, 7.30 Miningrocks, 8.00 Mrs Biggs, 8.30 Shamian.
