JOANNA Mason, who broke her back in a point-to-point fall earlier in the year, remarkably returned to race-riding action last month and has good prospects of notching a third winner since her comeback at Musselburgh this afternoon.

The North Yorkshire amateur rider teams-up with nap selection TAPIS LIBRE, trained by her grandfather Mick Easterby at Sheriff Hutton, who is seeking a quick double after scoring on this course a week ago.

Mason was in the saddle on that occasion and enjoyed an armchair ride on the seven-year-old, who won with plenty to spare.

Tapis Libre has an extra three furlongs to cover in today's Turcan Connell Amateur Riders' Handicap, which provides a question mark, but he looks in great nick at the moment and is fancied to defy a 6lb penalty in the hands of the determined Mason.

The £30,000 Archerfield Cup Handicap is the feature race on the card and the Richard Fahey-trained INNOCENT TOUCH may be the one to be on.

Part-owned by Nicholas Wrigley, the former chairman of York Racecourse, Innocent Touch has run a series of good races in defeat this season, at York, Carlisle and most recently at Chester.

He takes a step up in trip this afternoon, which may eke out a little more improvement from him. Tony Hamilton rides.

Fahey and Hamilton also have good prospects with IXELLES DIAMOND in the EBF Stallions Scottish Premier Series Fillies' Handicap. The four-year-old is on the compensation trail after going down by only a short head at Epsom last week.

HUMAN NATURE (2.30), a rare runner for Godolphin at this course, and the mount of James Doyle, and Tim Easterby's ON A PAR (4.30), who is overdue a winning turn, are two others to note at Musselburgh.

Haydock's evening meeting offers Rachel Richardson the chance to add to her 16 winners in her best season to date.

The North Yorkshire rider takes the mount on KING OF PARADISE in the opening betdaq.com Apprentice Training Series Handicap. Eric Alston's gelding won at Hamilton last Saturday night and comes from a stable in excellent form.

Paul Hanagan looks likely to enjoy a productive evening on his home course.

The Warrington-born jockey can complete a double on QUYAADAH and DAWN MISSILE.

The latter, trained by William Haggas, has won two of his three starts, at Chelmsford and Goodwood, and finished second in between at York. He is a 'work in progress' but remains on an upward curve and looks sure to go well, despite having to carry top weight in the Racing UK Anywhere Handicap.

Qayaadah is an interesting runner in the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes.

An impressive winner on his debut at Newbury, Ed Dunlop's juvenile found himself in too deep in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and finished in the ruck. This looks a less challenging engagement and he is plainly not one to underestimate.

Also worthy of attention at the Lancashire track are well-bred newcomer FOUNDATION (6.25) and the consistent TONI'S A STAR (7.30).
