ROYAL Ascot hero Goldream is likely to make York Racecourse his next port of call.

The King's Stand Stakes winner, trained by sprint specialist Robert Cowell, is expected to go straight to the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes on Knavesmire during the Welcome To Yorkshire Ebor Festival.

Goldream, winner of the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket on his seasonal bow, got up in the shadows of the post to clinch Group 1 glory at Royal Ascot last Tuesday, providing Cowell with his second King's Stand success following Prohibit's triumph in 2011.

The Six Mile Bottom-based trainer is in favour of giving his latest star sprinter a short summer break before heading for York on August 22.

Cowell said: "He came out of the race absolutely fine and is such a gentleman of a horse with a super attitude. He went out in the field and had a buck and a kick, but then he just eats grass and is a very sensible horse.

"I had a chat with the owner after the race and, while it is quite a long time between now and the Nunthorpe, he is so easy to train and such an enthusiastic galloper in a morning, I think he would get himself straight.

"As things stand, I think he'll probably go straight to York."
