WESTOW trainer Paul Midgley, on a high after achieving a sensational 1-2 with Desert Law and Monsieur Joe in Saturday's £100,000 Investec Dash in front of a Derby day crowd at Epsom, can enjoy further success at a significantly lower grade at Beverley this afternoon.

Midgley saddles CHOC'A'MOCA in the Follow Us On Twitter @Beverley_Races Handicap (division one) and Graham Lee's mount is fancied to come good for the first time this season.

The eight-year-old has run respectably in his four starts to date this term and now returns to a course and distance where he has been successful in the past.

He is well berthed in stall two on a track where the draw counts for plenty and, with his trainer in such great form, Choc'a'moca is fancied to add to Midgley's scoresheet.

Ollie Pears has double prospects on the card, courtesy of ROARING RORY and NAOISE.

The first-named shaped well at Redcar last time to finish third to Halsall in maiden company, beaten less than two lengths. This stiffer course should suit him and he can capitalise on dropping in class in the Etton Claiming Stakes. Jake Butterfield has the mount.

The 3lb claimer will also be aboard Naoise in the Beverley Folk Festival Here Next Week Handicap.

The Norton gelding shaped well to finish fifth to Westwood Hoe in an amateur riders' handicap at York recently. He takes a drop down in class here and ought to be competitive.

The £10,000 Weatherbys Hamilton Handicap takes pride of place on the Beverley card and BEAUTIFUL STRANGER promises to be a popular choice among punters.

Trained by the in-form Keith Dalgleish, the four-year-old came good at Pontefract last time when appreciating the step back up to a mile to gain a neck verdict.

The handicapper has raised him 3lb for that success and Beautiful Stranger looks sure to be in the thick of the action once more with Tony Hamilton on board.

Tim Easterby's Janaab, who looks to be running into form, may be the principal danger.

Kevin Ryan's ERIK THE RED makes plenty of appeal in the Skidby Maiden Stakes. The three-year-old found only Racing History too strong in a nine-runner maiden at Haydock last time out and may not need to improve much on that display to go one better under Keagan Latham.

Ryan can also hit the target with nap selection COUNT MONTECRISTO in the Taggarts land Rover Maiden Stakes at Hamilton's evening meeting.

Shane Gray's mount has finished second in all his three starts this season and was unlucky to bump into the useful-looking Tashaar at Haydock on his latest outing.

A strong galloper, who may well attempt to lead from pillar to post, Count Montecristo is expected to take plenty of catching.

The £10,000 Taggarts Jaguar XE Handicap is the feature race on the Scottish course and Norton jockey Tom Eaves has strong claims on VIVA VERGLAS, trained near Thirsk by David Barron.

Although he has been a rather frustrating horse to follow, the four-year-old ran well at Carlisle recently when second to Percy's Gal after a tardy start. If he can break on terms this time, Viva Verglas is capable of coming out on top.

Middleham trainer Micky Hammond has his horses in exceptional form and the North Yorkshire handler can win the Follow @HamiltonParkRC on Twitter Handicap with CADMIUM.

The mount of apprentice Rob Fitzpatrick, Cadmium failed by a whisker to score at Carlisle last week and can be marked down as a winner without a penalty. He could gain compensation in the concluding race on the card.
