SEE THE LEGEND is an aptly-named tip at Carlisle today on a card where Tony McCoy, on his farewell tour, is fancied to ride three winners.

While See The Legend is the mount of teenage amateur Tom Hamilton in the Happy Belated Birthday Mick Marshall Handicap and is taken to come up trumps after a decent fourth-placed effort at Ayr last month, the legendary McCoy is selected to keep his fans happy with wins on Rock N Rhythm, Upswing and Beg To Differ, all trained by Jonjo O’Neill.

Beg To Differ had McCoy in the saddle when getting off the mark at Wetherby last month when beating Masirann by two lengths.

The five-year-old lines up in the Join Us Thursday 5th March Handicap Hurdle and looks sure to be in the thick of the action.

McCoy teams up with Rock N Rhythm in the opening Racing UK Novices’ Hurdle.

Previously trained in Ireland, where he showed creditable placed form in bumpers at courses like Fairyhouse and Punchestown, Rock N Rhythm looks the type to make his presence felt over hurdles, provided he jumps fluently. He has the right man on his back to ensure that is the case.

Upswing runs in the Join Un On Easter Saturday 4th April Handicap Hurdle.

The seven-year-old failed to finish in the frame on his latest chasing debut at Leicester and had previously faced a daunting task in the ‘Fixed Brush’ Hurdle Final at Haydock.

This race looks much more in keeping with Upswing’s ability and it is worth noting that he is twice a winner on this course.

The £16,000 2015 Annual Membership Still Available Handicap Chase is the feature race at the Cumbrian track and Venetia Williams’ Howard’s Legacy promises to go well under Aidan Coleman.

The nine-year-old finished second at Kempton last time, leaving the impression that his winning turn was not far away.

He could well prove popular with punters in this staying test.

On the Flat at Wolverhampton, top North Yorkshire amateur rider Serena Brotherton is reacquainted with Amazing Blue Sky on whom she gained her first win of 2015 at Southwell recently.

The nine-year-old, trained at Stillington by Ruth Carr, has been raised 4lb for that success in the Bet In Play At Coral Amateur Riders’ Handicap (division two). He has strong each-way claims.

Great Habton trainer Tim Easterby can win the featured £45,000 Daily Enchanced ‘Magic Multiples’ At Unibete Handicap over five furlongs with Mappin Time.

A recent outing at Chelmsford, where he finished fourth to Trojan Rocket, should have knocked the cobwebs off Mappin Time, who is a three-times winner on synthetic surfaces.

Mullen also teams up with nap selection Walk Like A Giant in the Best Odds Guaranteed At Coral Handicap.

Trained by Mick Appleby, who provided Mullen with three winners at Southwell last week, Walk Like A Giant went down by only a neck to India’s Song at Chelmsford last time out. He can step up on that effort this time.
