SHERIFF HUTTON trainer Mark Walford, on the mark over jumps at Kelso on Sunday with handicap chaser Big Sound, can follow up with a Flat success at Nottingham this afternoon.

Walford relies on Woody Bay, who returns to a course where he won last season, as he seeks to post a deserved victory after a couple of near-misses.

Woody Bay has finished in the frame on his last two starts, following up a third-placed effort at Haydock with a game runner-up display at Newcastle last week when he was only outpointed late on and beaten a length at the line.

Overdue another winning turn, Woody Bay is fancied to find opportunity knocking in the £10 Free Bet At 32Red Sport Handicap. Duran Fentiman has the mount.

Jason Hart, a regular rider for Walford, but on board Lord Franklin in Woody Bay's race, has another chance on the card when he partners King Of Paradise in the Racing Specials At 32redSport.com Apprentice Handicap.

Although it is some time since he last won, Eric Alston's gelding has finished runner-up at Hamilton and Haydock on his last two starts and is on the threshold of returning to winning form.

Tercel may prove the answer to the 32Red.com Handicap on behalf of Sir Michael Stoute and Ryan Moore.

The three-year-old, a Sandown winner earlier in the season, is maintaining his form pretty well and finished second at Newbury on his latest start just under three weeks ago.

Also worth noting at Nottingham are David O'Meara's Redcar winner Snow Cloud (2.50), who makes her nursery bow under Sam James, and the promising Spiriting (2.30), trained by Luca Cumani and a good half-length second at Yarmouth on his latest outing.

At Kempton's evening meeting, Ninjago makes obvious appeal in the Betbright Conditions Stakes over six furlongs in the hands of Pat Dobbs.

Richard Hannon's useful sprinter found only Intrinsic too strong in the Stewards' Cup at Goodwood at the beginning of August. He has a great chance at the weights in this non-handicap and should prove too strong for recent Hamilton winner Krypton Factor.

Clear Mind can oblige for John Gosden and William Buick in the London Mobile App Handicap.

The Rail Link filly, a promising third on her debut, stepped up on that performance when winning with something to spare at Lingfield on her next outing. It is almost three months since we last saw Clear Mind in action, but Gosden rarely leaves his horses short of fitness and the three-year-old deserves the utmost respect on her handicap bow off an opening mark of 82. She earns the nap vote.

Paul Hanagan can make his presence felt aboard Algaith in the first division of the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes.

The Dubawi colt, trained by Barry Hills, clearly had a useful reputation when he made his debut Newmarket because he was sent off the 7-2 favourite, only to finish eighth of the 12 runners behind Consort.

He is now switched to an artificial surface and, sure to be wiser with a race under his belt, is not one to underestimate carrying the colours of Hanagan's boss, Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, who is enjoying a tremendous year.

The hat-trick seeking Ar Colleen Aine (5.55), trained by Mick Channon, and Freddy Tylicki's mount Elizona (8.55), who is an interesting recruit to all-weather racing, are two others worth a second look at the Sunbury course.
