LEADING ante-post fancy Mighty Yar has scraped into the field for tomorrow’s Betfred Ebor at York and will be ridden by Frankie Dettori.

Trained by Lady Cecil, who is bidding for back-to-back wins in the famous handicap after the success of Tiger Cliff 12 months ago, Mighty Yar took the 20th and final spot.

Cecil also runs Retirement Plan, with the 4lb penalty he picked up for a recent win at the Shergar Cup meeting securing his spot in the field with Andrew Balding’s Van Percy similarly benefiting from a last- time-out victory.

Tony Martin will be represented by Ted Veale, who won over fences recently but stablemate Quick Jack missed the cut.

Top weight will be carried by Balding’s Whiplash Willie as Pale Mimosa was not declared.

Ante-post favourite Pallasator will still be ridden by Luke Morris despite being purchased by Qatar Racing, with Clever Cookie representing Peter Niven.

Mutual Regard runs for Johnny Murtagh, Ryan Moore will ride Bold Sniper for the Queen with Marco Botti having two strong chances in Chester Cup winner Suegioo and Old Newton Cup hero De Rigueur.

Dare To Achieve, Wadi Al Hattawi, Great Hall and Elidor are others to note.

The Ed Walker-trained Glorious Protector and Luca Cumani’s Havana Cooler, who had been well supported in the run up to the race, are the two reserves.
