JOHN QUINN, who successfully placed Simply Glitz to win at Thirsk on Monday evening, is aiming to strike while the iron is hot at Beverley today.

The Norton trainer is saddling his filly again in this afternoon's Bet And Watch With RacingUK's App Handicap.

Joe Doyle, Quinn's smart apprentice, rode a canny race on Simply Glitz to win at Thirsk with something to spare. A 6lb penalty may not prevent the partnership completing a quick double. The nap vote is awarded.

Quinn's next-door neighbour Malcolm Jefferson, pictured, aims to complete a hurdles-Flat double with Enchanted Garden in the Sculpture To Wear Equestrian Jewellery Handicap.

Enchanted Garden won a valuable handicap hurdle off a mark of 130 at last month's Market Rasen meeting which confirmed him to be in excellent heart. He finished second at Musselburgh on the Flat in his previous outing and looks sure to go well here with Tom Eaves in the saddle.

Brindle, trained by Richard Fahey, promises to be hard to beat in the EBF Watch Racing Replays On Racing UK Maiden Fillies' Stakes over five furlongs.

The juvenile made a promising debut at Haydock last month to finish fourth and was only tapped for speed in the closing stages. That outing should have taught her a lot and she is selected to open her winning account here

Fahey also has a winning chance with Abbey Angel in the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Nursery Handicap.

The two-year-old has shaped well in all her three races and was just touched off at Thirsk on her latest start by Supreme Occasion, who has since won a nursery at Newcastle.

Abbey Angel now makes her handicap debut and does not look overburden off a mark of 74, even though she has to concede weight all round here. Tony Hamilton, rider of Brindle, also has the mount on Abbey Angel.

The White Rose Saddlery Amateur Riders' Handicap, sponsored by the Malton racing specialists, looks a wide-open contest.

But Iceblast, trained by Mick Easterby, who has a good record in these type of races, looks to have a leading chance. He will benefit from stepping up in trip after running over six furlongs lately and he will receive every assistance from the competent Joanna Mason.

At Newmarket, Global Leader should go well for Paul d'Arcy in the newmarketracecourses.co.uk Handicap over seven furlongs.

Ryan Moore's mount has been in cracking form lately, winning at Sandown and Yarmouth. He may be able to complete a hat-trick.

Raven Ridge may prove the answer to the Lyndsay Wicks Birthday Memorial Handicap.

Michael Bell's three-year-old, a Newcastle winner last autumn, has been lightly raced so far this term, running only twice and finishing fourth, on the Rowley Mile course here and at Newbury on those two starts. He is capable of stepping-up. Jamie Spencer rides.

John Gosden, whose top filly Taghrooda is York-bound next week for the Yorkshire Oaks, which the trainer won last year with The Fugue, has a promising juvenile in Long Cross.

Sure to have benefited from his fourth-placed effort on his debut, Long Cross can win the Racing UK Maiden Stakes in the hands of William Buick.

Also worth noting are the in-form Captain Bob (4.25) and the hat-trick seeking Bombardment (4.55).
