Holy Angel aims to be a guardian angel for Rachel Richardson at Wolverhampton today as the newly-created partnership bid to complete a hat-trick of wins.

Twice, the North Yorkshire apprentice has ridden the Tim Easterby-trained sprinter in recent weeks, and twice they have triumphed, both at Wolverhampton. Indeed, they are the only occasions, Richardson has ridden on the course, so she boasts a 100 per cent strike-rate on both horse and track.

Holy Angel has been raised 7lb since his latest win 17 days ago, but he’s a horse in excellent form and he appeared to score with something in hand on his most recent appearance. He is selected to do his young rider another good turn in the card-opening Pick The Best Bookies At bookmakers.co.uk Handicap.

Robert Tart is another apprentice making something of a name for himself and the 7lb claimer should enjoy a good ride on nap selection Wordiness in the coral.co.uk Handicap over a mile and a half.

Wordiness won over this course and distance last month. He has gone up 6lb in the meantime, but Tart’s allowance will cancel out that extra poundage.

The Welsh Wizard is worth noting in the Poker At coral.co.uk Maiden Stakes in which he makes his debut. Graham Lee has the mount.

Silver Alliance made a triumphant return to action on this course last month when scoring nicely for Shelley Birkett. The 5lb claimer again teams up with Julia Fielden’s charge in the bookmakers.co.uk Apprentice Handicap and a bold bid looks likely.

All-weather action moves to Lingfield tomorrow, where North Yorkshire jockey Micheal O’Connell partners nap selection Spin Again in the Breathe Spa At Marriott Lingfield Handicap.
