Captain Ramius is still going strong having provided North Yorkshire trainer Kevin Ryan with a memorable Ayr Gold Cup triumph in September before following up with a win at Doncaster.

The turf campaign may have ended, but Captain Ramius is proven on an artificial surface and Hambleton-based Ryan has elected to send him to Kempton tomorrow evening for a valuable Listed target.

The Betdaq Mobile Apps Hyde Stakes, with a prize fund of £33,000, looks a useful assignment for Captain Ramius, who was three-times an all-weather winner earlier in his career.

There was plenty to like about the Ayr victory of Captain Ramius, when he spreadeagled a smart field. He went on to finish a good fourth in a hot race at Ascot before winning a conditions race at Doncaster where he confirmed his ability to be effective over tomorrow’s distance of seven furlongs.

Phillip Makin, Ryan’s stable jockey, has the mount on Captain Ramius, who is fancied to take all the beating.

York-based jockey Robert Winston has enjoyed a good year and, with his tally ticking towards 90 winners, he can add to his scoresheet aboard Fly Solo, another North Yorkshire horse making the journey to Kempton.

Trained near Richmond by Alan Swinbank, Fly Solo has finished in the frame in all his four races and was third at Wolverhampton on his latest four weeks ago.

He looks capable of winning a race and the Back Or Lay At betdaq.com Handicap.

John Gosden has very few horses in his care with a rating of under 70, but Derwentwater is one of them and the juvenile is napped to capitalise on his lowly handicap mark in the Betdaq Casino Games Nursery.

Although he has yet to trouble the judge in three runs on turf, Derwentwater has shown a glimpse of ability in maiden company. He has been allotted a mark of 62 for his handicap debut and should be able to figure in the thick of the action.

Freddie Tylicki heads to Kempton to ride Epic Storm in the Racing Plus – The Best Weekend Action Handciap.

Trained by Sean Curran, a former jump jockey, Epic Storm came good at Wolverhampton last time out. He has taken a long time to learn to settle, but the penny seems to be dropping now and Malton-based Tylicki is fancied to get the best out of him.

Also worth noting at Kempton are the consistent Place That Face (4.00) and the hat-trick seeking Mutual Regard (7.30).

At Lingfield, Paul Hanagan has good prospects of winning the Betfred ‘The Bonus King’ Handicap on Haamaat, trained by William Haggas.

The sprinter came good over this course and distance three weeks ago and can complete a quick double.

Absolutely So (12.30) and Edgware Road (3.30) are two others to consider.
