TADCASTER Albion are “going to enjoy” the final three games of their Evo-Stik League north campaign as poor results in the last week all but ended their play-off hopes.

The Brewers suffered a shock 2-1 home defeat to lowly Radcliffe Borough last Saturday before Casey Stewart struck twice on Tuesday to rescue a 2-2 draw at Ossett Albion.

Taddy now lie ninth in the table, seven points outside the play-off spots with three fixtures to play – with the next coming tomorrow at 12th-placed Atherton Collieries, who have lost just twice in 20 games.

Club spokesman Jay Taylor said: “On another day, if you came from behind twice you’d be happy, but we dominated Ossett.

“We’ve got to take the positives but we still feel aggrieved we haven’t come away with all three points.

“We’re just going to enjoy the last three games – it’s going to be a tough ask now getting in the play-offs. We need some favours from other teams.

“Last Saturday was the game that killed us. There was a mindset factor – Radcliffe are struggling, and it was at home, so we thought it would be straightforward.

“But we know how difficult it’s going to be against Atherton. They drew 1-1 with Hyde United on Monday which just shows how well they’re doing.”

Michael Ingham could return to the side while Andy Milne is nearing return after ankle surgery.

Scarborough Athletic won their fourth consecutive game midweek as they beat Colwyn Bay 2-1. The Seadogs are second, five points behind leaders South Shields. Tomorrow, Boro host play-off contenders Colne.

Harrogate Town are now six points off the summit of National League North having suffered a 3-0 defeat at Boston United on Tuesday. For Town's penultimate game of the season, they travel to eighth-placed Bradford Park Avenue.
