HUNTINGTON Rovers crept up to fourth in the York Minster Engineering League premier division with a 1-0 win at Church Fenton.

Jon James got the only goal of the Monday night game.

Rovers' reserves team, meanwhile, continued their drive to retain their reserve 'A' title with a 6-0 demolition of Old Malton St Mary's at North Lane on Saturday.

Lee Bunce led the scoring with four goals, with Daniel Phillips and a blockbuster from Paul Scaife adding to the tally.

Wigginton Grasshoppers remain top for the time being following their 5-1 home win over Hemingbrough United. Mark Scoreby and Steve Jarvis both bagged braces for the hosts with James Sutton adding their fifth.

Goals from Tom Knowles, Jack Holman and David Ablett gave Pocklington Town a 3-0 home triumph over Easingwold Town.

Craig Theaker, Ben Small and Robert Rubira fired Dunnington to a 3-2 win over Thore United, for whom Jay Smyth and Tom Knight netted. Church Fenton and Malton & Norton played out a high-scoring 3-3 draw.

Osbaldwick's reserve 'B' title celebrations were put on hold after third-placed Dringhouses upset the apple cart, defeating their rivals 3-1.

Tom Hawksby and Chris Banks (2) fired the Acomb side to success.

James Dunwoody hit a 30-yard screamer and Jacob Green also netted as Harrison Signs held high-flying Poppleton United to a 2-2 share-all. Arron Glasby and Marlon Bentley struck for Tadcaster Magnets at Bishopthorpe United but the home side went on to record a 4-2 success.

Harrison Signs also won 4-1 at Heworth on Monday, while Poppleton beat Bishopthorpe 2-1 and Tockwirth beat Magnets 3-1.

Wilberfoss are the reserve 'C' title favourites after goals from Dave Laverack and Robert Carter gave them a 2-0 success over leaders Malt Shovel. They now sit one point behind in second place with three games in hand.

Anthony Downing, Jordan Elliot and Dean Gledhill struck to give Stamford Bridge a 3-0 win over Civil Service.

Wheldrake gained their first success of the season thanks to Martyn Feilden's strike against Rufforth United. Callum Petch (2) continued his scoring streak for Cliffe and Corey Littlefield was also on target in a 3-0 defeat of Brooklyn.

Nick Tate, Ryan Horner and Richard Fletcher all hit the target for Fulford as they gained a point from a 3-3 draw on their trip to York RI.

Wheldrake returned to losing ways on Monday with a 4-0 home loss to Stamford Bridge, who kept their slim promotion hopes alive.
