WIGGINTON Grasshoppers eased into the semi-finals of the York Fastpack Sunday Morning League Cup with a 9-0 home win over Wentworth.

Tom Metcalfe hit a first-half hat-trick for the division one leaders as Grasshoppers led their second-division visitors by six at the break before hitting three more in the second period to finish the contest.

Tom Derbyshire, Jordan Holt and Jamie Willstrop picked up two goals each to complete the scoring.

Division two leaders Atlanta comfortably saw off table-mates White Horse 7-0 in the quarter-finals with Ben Murphy and Shane Hand bagging a brace each.

Ben Lambert, Carl Brockhill and Ryan Heptinstall added to see Atlanta through to the last four.

A close game between Walnut Tree and Rawcliffe United saw the latter progress with a 2-1 win.

Rawcliffe had a one-goal lead going into the break and a goal apiece from either team was all the second half saw.

Chris Barratt scored Walnut Tree’s only goal.

York Nomads netted twice either side of half-time to see off Hambleton 4-2 in the final tie of the round.

Nathan Bradley scored two with Liam Flanagan and Tom Young adding for Nomads. Kane Snelson got both of Hambleton’s goals.

In division one, Hounds cut the deficit at the top of the table to 14 points after beating Brayton 8-0.

Sam Cable bagged a hat-trick while Luke Pearce and Liam Brown both scored two each and Tom Collins added to give Hounds a comfortable win.

Malt Shovel just edged out bottom side Selby Olympia 6-5. Tom Lazenby scored two for Selby Olympia alongside goals from Adrian Kistel, Ben Scholey and Robert Frair.

Bramham Sunday won 6-3 at NUR thanks to a Liam McAntee hat-trick, Josh Wilson's double and Rob Thomas' strike.

Calum Roe-Dixon scored two and Gary Stephenson netted for NUR as the side went into the break at three goals apiece.

Haxby United have cut the gap at the top of division two to only 6 points after a close encounter that they just edged 3-2 at home to Thorpe United.

The sides had a goal each at the break but Haxby’s class shone through in the end.

Dan Clipston bagged two with Lewis Clark also adding for Haxby while Matthew Harker and Lewis Cox were on target for Thorpe.

K Town United came out 4-3 winners from the basement battle at home to Burnholme thanks to Jim Heels' hat-trick and Thomas Drake's finish.

Danny Phillips bagged a hat-trick for Burnholme.

Acomb Club ran out 7-1 winners over bottom side Kings Head.

Lee Harris scored two with Alex Day, Thomas Medd and Cole Carter all on the scoresheet alongside two own goals.

Ged Christian scored for Kings Head.

FC Harrogate came away with a convincing win 7-2 against Clockhouse. Callum Sanpher bagged four and Zak Allen three for FC Harrogate.
