TADCASTER Albion were beaten 1-0 at home by Evo-Stik League north leaders Hyde United despite enjoying much of the possession.

The only goal of the game came after 12 minutes when Aaron Hardy’s pass was intercepted by Elliot Rokka who slid Adam Gilchrist in behind to find the net.

Michael Morton’s side threw everything at their opponents in the second half to grab a point but lacked that cutting edge.

The Taddy boss made one change from the midweek defeat at Prescot with the impressive Harry Sheppeard returning in place of Conor Sellars.

Albion made a positive start to the game with Casey Stewart looking lively but it was Hyde who broke the deadlock as Gilchrist drove clean through on goal and rounded keeper Michael Ingham before scoring.

The Brewers picked themselves up and came close to levelling two minutes later when the irrepressible Pete Davidson latched onto a loose ball to poke just wide.

In a half of few chances, it was another stray pass from Albion that almost gifted Darren Kelly’s side a second goal when a miscued ball from Mycoe allowed debutant Rokka in but the Tranmere Rovers loanee shot wide.

Hyde danger man Max Leonard came close to extending the lead six minutes after the restart but his powerful free kick from distance whistled wide.

The travelling Tigers fans called for a penalty moments later kick as Jason Mycoe cleared the ball away from lively winger Luke Porritt before Leonard had a goal disallowed for offside after heading in Janni Lipka's free kick.

Taddy responded well and started to put the leaders under sustained intensified pressure as the likes of Chris Howarth, Aiden Savory, Billy Whitehouse and Stewart all got into good areas but did not pull the trigger.

Hyde defended strongly as the Brewers threw everything at them while Sheppeard’s pace was causing problems down the left.

A marauding run from the 18-year-old full-back saw him hauled down just outside the penalty box for a free kick in a dangerous area but Conor Sellars' ball in evaded everyone.
