BRAYTON were convincing 5-2 winners at division one bottom side Selby Olympia to leapfrog Hambleton into sixth in York Fastpack Sunday Morning League division one.

Selby goals from David Whisker and Chris Thompson were not enough to prevent their eighth defeat of the season.

Patrick Guest gave the visitors a good start, opening the scoring after four minutes with a cross-cum-shot before winning a penalty which was despatched by Joe Krygsman after 10 minutes.

Selby pulled one back five minutes later with a brilliant free kick, but Will Cleary converted Guest's cross to restore Brayton's advantage and Guest added a fourth before half-time.

Paul Tiffany netted Brayton's fifth before Selby pulled another back.

Displaced Hambleton could only pick up a draw at home to Bishopthorpe, who rose to second bottom with the point.

The hosts were leading 2-1 at half-time thanks to a Kane Snelson double, but a second-half strike ensured the spoils were shared.

Division two leaders Atlanta progressed to the final of the Harrogate FA Cup with a 4-1 win over Markington.

In the league, Haxby United moved to within two points of second place with two games in hand thanks to a 6-2 win at FC Harrogate.

Harry Moorcroft and Tom Kilvington both bagged braces with Lewis Clark and Will Plews adding. Zak Allen netted twice for the hosts, who had conceded four goals without replying by half-time.

Acomb Club missed the chance to put pressure of their own on second spot as they suffered a 3-2 reversal at Rawcliffe United.

All five goals were scored in the second half, as Acomb's Adam Chaplin and substitute Jacob Green were on target but unable to claim the win for the visitors.

Basement side Burnholme saw off second-bottom King's Head to climb to 12th with a 3-2 home win thanks to goals from Scott Higgs, Ben Low and Oli Coulthard.

Isaac Westley and Ged Christian replied for King's Head.

K Town United suffered another blow to their already severely-hit goal difference with a 7-0 loss at Clockhouse.

Bradley Walters and Dylan Howlett both scored two each, with Pa Sainey Kanyi, Kieran Nelson and Samuel Adjare all adding.
