THERE was one Junior Cup tie played this week in the York Fastpack York Sunday Morning League which saw York Medics progress to the semi-finals with a 6-2 at FC Harrogate.

Matthew Fortnam scored a hat-trick with Alex Renwick, Greg Chambers and Martin Macrae all netting for Medics. Luke Middleton and James Marriott scored for the hosts.

Division one leaders Wigginton Grasshoppers took only five minutes to get ahead at basement side Bishopthorpe CFC through Jordan Holt's header on their way to a 7-3 win.

Tom Coates struck shortly after and Holt got his second on the 15-minute mark before setting up Tom Derbyshire for a fourth.

The hosts pulled one back, only to see 'Hoppers restore their five-goal cushion with Neale Holme's spot kick.

Bishopthorpe pulled two back either side of a Josh Lockhurst strike in a more even second half, before John Cavanagh added a late header.

Division two leaders Atlanta proved their title credentials as they emerged 5-0 winners at Kings Head. The division's top scorer Liam Edmondson bagged another two goals with Gareth Traynor, Daniel Harrison and Ryan Lamb also on the scoresheet.

Second-placed Walnut Tree kept pace with a 2-1 win in a close game at home to Wentworth, sealed by second-half goals from Luke Taylor and Finlay Scott. Will Moss got Wentworth's reply.

Alex Day scored four as Acomb Club kept a clean sheet in their comfortable 5-0 win over Thorpe United. Oliver Murray rounded off the scoring for the third-placed side.

Haxby United had to fought back from a two-goal half-time deficit to earn a 3-3 draw at home to Clockhouse. Two goals from Will Plews and one from Lewis Clark saw them claim a point.

Bottom-side Burnholme drew 3-3 at home to K Town United thanks to two goals from new signing Oli Coulthard and one from Danny Phillips.

Jim Heels scored a brace and Alex Shaw one for the visitors.
