SAM Thompson was the main man for York Nomads against Bubwith, netting a double hat-trick in a 10-1 Fastpack York Sunday Morning League division one thrashing.

Andy Simpson bagged a brace and Samson Wildwood completed the rout. Josh Evans scored his side’s only reply.

Last season’s league champions Malt Shovel left it late to rescue a point in a 3-3 draw against NUR.

Lewis Jeffers netted twice and Calum Roe-Dixon also got on the scoresheet for NUR, who took a 1-0 lead into the break, but a brace from Derry Robson and one for Tommy Butterfield in the second half ensured the spoils were shared.

Brayton just edged past Bishopthorpe 2-1 in another close game.

Bishopthorpe’s Nathan Walker opened the scoring from a corner after just two minutes, but Ryan Lofthouse levelled things up for his side a quarter-of-an-hour later. Joe Krygsman gave Brayton a 2-1 lead just before the break from the penalty spot.

Man-of-the-match Ben Murphy scored five goals for division two leaders Atlanta, as Burnholme FC were thumped 11-1 for the second game in a row.

Also on the scoresheet were Ben Lambert, Dan Smith, Daniel Paterson, Ryan Lamb, Dom Taylor and Dom Creamer. Burnholme’s only response came courtesy of Scott Higgs.

Second-placed Walnut Tree went one better, scoring 11 without reply against K Town United.

There were four goals for Ryan Garbutt, a hat-trick for Thomas Johnson, two for James Thompson and one each for Tom Genever and James Hood as the Holgate side logged an 11-0 victory

Clockhouse claimed the bragging rights in their 5-1 derby-day victory over Acomb Club, Dylan Howlett scoring a brace.

Bradley Walters, Daniel Murray and Jack Bywater also scored, as Jacob Green got Acomb Club’s consolation goal.

White Horse just edged past FC Harrogate 5-4 to claim a second victory in a row.

Kev Martin, Craig Fletcher and Nathan Harland, added to Scott Pallister’s two goals, were just enough to claim the three points for the York side.

Harrogate’s Connor Holroyd scored two, and there was one goal apiece for Mark Baranovsky and Sean Robinson.

Haxby United eased past Wentworth 4-1, with Tom Kilvington netting two goals.

Harry Moorcroft and Dave Fell also scored, Richard Rhodes being the only scorer for Wentworth.

Reece Stronach scored a hat-trick as Thorpe United hammered Kings Head 8-0.

There were also two goals for Curtis Swain, and one each for Jake Wild, Rory Nicholson and Dan Beach.

York Medics lost 4-3 at Rawcliffe United in a tightly-contested encounter.

Jack Buchanan, Greg Chambers and Elliot Jones-Williams netted for the university-based visitors.

There were also two “Fastpack Ltd” York Sunday Morning League teams in action in the West Riding County Cup.

Hounds put in a dominant performance against Bradshaw, emerging 12-2 victors.

Hambleton played out their contest with only ten men against FC West Leeds. The score was 2-2 after extra time, and the York side won it 5-4 on penalties.
