OSBALDWICK will go into the weekend as surprise joint-leaders of the York Minster Engineering League premier division some four games in.

Their unbeaten record will be put to the test on Saturday, though, by Huntington Rovers, who have a 100 per cent record after three matches.

All the other divisions below the top flight kick off this coming weekend.

Osbaldwick went level on points with early premier leaders Wigginton Grasshoppers at the summit after a comprehensive 5-0 win at F1 Racing.

The home side, who were also unbeaten prior to the game, found themselves 2-0 down within the first 10 minutes as old boy Danny Penrose put Osso into the lead, before Isaac Clark doubled the advantage.

F1 then assumed a foothold in the game but, after briefly threatening, found themselves further behind when an error let in Harry Sheppeard to score the third.

Goals from Dan Davison and Danny Lamb finished off the scoring.

Dunnington ended the perfect record of defending champions Wigginton, coming from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at Mill Lane.

Pat Evans gave the hosts the lead after just four minutes, but Hoppers could not make the most of the chances that followed and the away side gradually grew into the game. Tom Anderson restored parity after the break and Dunnington were unlucky not to take all of the points when a late headed effort forced Wiggy keeper Michael Clancy to make a stunning save.

Copmanthorpe sit fourth after a 4-3 win over Sporting Knavesmire, whose goals came from Danny Owers, Tom Owen and Alex Dale.

Lenny Mason, Johan Beecher, Ben Jones and Joseph Smythe netted for Church Fenton White Horse as they defeated York RI 4-2, Danny Smith and Josh Coulson replying.

Dringhouses moved into a 2-0 lead over Malton & Norton through Sam Drake and Matthew Mulhearn before Matty Reeves pulled a goal back for the home side. Liam Robertson hit a third for Houses as they secured a 3-1 success, leaving M&N still seeking their first points.

Scott Collins netted for Tadcaster Magnets at home to Old Malton St Mary's but four goals from Saints striker Marcus Godsell put the result beyond doubt. A 6-1 victory for the visitors was rounded off by goals from Callum Scott and Steve Baxter.
