AIDEN Savory, Tom Corner, Casey Stewart, Andy Milne and Piteu Crouz were all on target for Tadcaster Albion in a 5-0 pre-season victory over Selby Town this week.

Savory kept his place up front for the Brewers after impressing against Garforth Town, and he made it two goals in two games after two minutes.

After some great wing-play by a trialist, Corner’s driven shot was cleverly guided into the back of the net off the chest of the former Farsley Celtic man.

It was a positive start by Albion and that lead should have been doubled inside the ten-minute mark.

Picking the ball up in his own half, a trialist drove forward before playing a one-two with Liam Shepherd and scooping a ball over the top for Corner to run onto. Corner squared across goal to Conor Sellars who was kept out from point-blank range.

Michael Morton’s side continued to dominate the ball for large spells, looking neat and tidy in possession with Corner and Savory threatening in the air.

Selby had good chances of their own to draw level, with a dipping free-kick dropping inches wide, while Nick Lock was forced into a good save.

The Brewers turned up the tempo in the second period. It was 2-0 eight minutes into the half when Sellars’ free-kick was headed across goal by Milne and forced in by Corner.

As both sides rung the changes throughout the second half, Taddy took complete control and the goals flowed in the final 15 minutes.

Stewart made it three, heading into an empty net after Corner had won the ball back and fired onto the head of the youngster.

It was one-way traffic in the final ten minutes as substitute Crouz somehow saw his strike cleared off the line with the goalkeeper beaten.

Nevertheless, it was four less than 60 seconds later with captain Milne getting in on the act, turning in Stewart’s low cross from two yards.

Taddy’s promising display was rounded off with a fifth goal four minutes from time with two of the substitutes combining.

Jake Ellam looked sharp when he came on, and it was the former Ossett man who timed his through-ball perfectly for Crouz to run onto and drive into the back of the net.
