IT'S BEEN a successful week for teams from the Fastpack Ltd York Sunday Morning League.

York Nomads Society had already won the North Riding County Cup with a 1-0 win against The Cleveland. On Sunday they capped off a brilliant week by beating division one rivals NUR in the York FA Cup to net their second silverware in three days.

The score was 3-0 at the break with both sides playing well, but Nomads pushed on in the second half and won 10-0.

Another cup-winning team, Hounds, beat Swillington Welfare 5-0 in the final of the Barkston Ash Cup. Hounds were 1-0 up at half-time and managed a further four goals in the second half to take the glory.

Malt Shovel mirrored their fellow teams by wrapping up the division one title, with victory over title rivals Wigginton Grasshoppers

Malt took a 2-0 lead inside the first 20 minutes before Tom Metcalfe and Jamie Willstrop levelled things up. Malt managed to bag a goal before half-time to take a 3-2 lead at the break. Two further goals helped Malt secure a 5-2 victory – and the title.

Two Selby sides came up against one another with Cliffe taking on Brayton. The game was even for most of the first half before Brayton broke the deadlock a minute before half-time thanks to Kyle Wilks.

In the second half, a free-kick from Ryan Lofthouse was met with a thunderous volley from Paul Tiffany, while the third goal came from Luke Rayner and the fourth from Patrick Guest's chip.

In division two, top-of-the-table Selby Olympia recorded another win by beating Wentworth 5-1.

Second-placed Hambleton kept up the pressure by beating Haxby United 6-0.
