MALT Shovel will play Bubwith Swans in The 'Fastpack Ltd' York Sunday Morning League Senior Cup Final.

Division One leaders Shovel beat second placed Wigginton Grasshoppers 4-2 after extra-time in last weekend's semifinal.

A header from Tom Derbyshire gave Wigginton a 1-0 lead and he doubled the advantage with his second goal of the game shortly after halftime.

But Gary Collier scored from both a free-kick and a penalty to get Malt Shovel back on level terms and Wigginton goalkeeper Mike Clancy saved a penalty to take the tie into extra time. Malt Shovel scored twice in extra-time to go through to the final.

Sixth-placed Bubwith Swans beat Thorpe United 4-2 in the other semifinal. Thorpe's goals were scored by Reece Stronach and Curtis Swain.

The Swans returned to league action in midweek and suffered a 3-2 defeat against Wigginton.

They led 1-0 at the interval but Wigginton’s Harry Clapham scored 10 minutes into the second half to level the game. Bubwith regained the lead from a penalty a couple minutes later before Wigginton equalised for a second time through Mackenzie Nichol.

Clapham scored his second goal of the game to secure victory for Wigginton who are now six points behind Malt Shovel with three games remaining.

The finalists in the York FA cup faced each other in the league last weekend as York Nomads enjoyed an 8-4 victory over NUR.

Samson Wildwood scored a hat-trick for the Nomads supported by goals from Liam Flanagan (2), Pete Laidlaw, Chris Bilton and Mike Hattee. NUR’s goals were scored by Ben Spencer, Aiden Ward, Kieran Ruane and Pete Gregory.

NUR lost 4-0 in midweek against Hounds FC who had also hammered Marcia Bishopthorpe 8-0 just two days earlier .

Christopher Jackson scored four of the goals with David Laverack, Steven Frost, Darren Jackson and Shaun Heslwood also on target.

In the Junior Cup, Hambleton beat Elmpark 3-2 to set up a final date with York Medics.

Luke Lambert scored a hat-trick as Selby Olympia won 4-2 against Haxby United in division two.

Trailing 3-0 at the interval, Haxby scored twice in the second half to reduce the deficit. Josh Knowles also found the net for Selby.

Free-scoring Bramham scored seven goals for the fifth time this season as they cruised to a 7-1 victory against bottom-of-the-table Rawcliffe Crusaders.
