YORK Medics stormed into the Fastpack Ltd York Sunday Morning League Division Two Cup final with a 3-0 victory over Selby Olympia.

The semi-final was scoreless at half-time, but Elliot Jones-Williams and Greg Chambers bagged second-half goals to take the Medics through.

Division one leaders Malt Shovel took part in a high-scoring game with nine goals between themselves and Marcia Bishopthorpe.

Marcia led 2-1 at the break but Malt came back to win 6-3 and show why they are at the summit. Harry Brigham scored a hat-trick, Gary Collier bagged a brace and William Ramsey scored Malt’s other goal.

Wigginton Grasshoppers climbed back into second spot with an 11-2 win over Thorpe United.

It took 10 minutes for Tom Coates to fire Wigginton into the lead before Jake Duckworth scored a diving header to make it two. Josh Luckhurst bagged a brace in five minutes before Stuart Rice made it 5-0 at the break.

Into the second half, Reece Stonarch and Adam England scored for Thorpe, but their fight-back was short lived as John Cavanagh, Terry Taylor, Michael Clancy and Neale Holmes all netted for Wigginton.

Man of the match Luckhurst scored the last two goals to take his tally to four – all from centre half.

Hounds bagged another three points with a comfortable 6-0 victory over Bubwith.

Hounds were 4-0 up at the break and managed two further goals in the second half to help their push for a top-three spot.

Shaun Heselwood and Chris Jackson notched braces, while Thomas Hogg also scored along with an own goal.

The last division one game saw Brayton take on NUR. NUR made the breakthrough after 14 minutes with their first chance, but it took just three minutes for Joe Krygsman to bring Brayton level.

Five minutes into the second period, NUR were awarded a penalty. Brayton goalkeeper Ollie Edghill saved the initial spot-kick but it was NUR who were first onto the rebound and scored their second goal.

Substitute Will Cleary brought the game back level before Krygsman bagged his second of the match to take all three points for Brayton.

In division two, Hambleton put pressure on Selby Olympia at the top of the table and are now just one point behind the league leaders. A 12-0 thumping of Bramham earned them all three points.

Haxby United drew 3-3 with Elmpark, who were 2-1 up at the break. But with Haxby achieving the same scoreline in the second half the spoils were shared.

Duke Whiter, Jack Leeming and Nathan Wright scored for Elmpark to ensure they earned a point.
