THORPE United's clash with Cliffe was the only first division encounter to go ahead in the Fastpack Ltd York Sunday Morning League last weekend.
The wet weather caused a large number of postponements throughout the league, but the match between local rivals was given the go-ahead.
Cliffe took the lead into half-time with a 2-1 advantage, but Thorpe managed to peg the game back after the break as a thrilling clash ended 4-4.
Jack Morris bagged a brace, while Adam Blades and Reece Stronach also added for Thorpe United.
In division two, second-placed Hambleton grabbed three points and are now only four points off top spot after their 5-2 win against Rawcliffe Crusaders.
Wentworth took on local rivals York Medics in a hard-fought game.
The scores were level at 0-0 at half time, and it took goals from Alex Bonsall and Diego Perdisci in the second half for Wentworth to take the three points. Daniel McNorton scored a consolation for Medics as the game ended 2-1.
