THREE GAMES were called off in division one of the Fastpack Ltd York Sunday Morning League – with York Nomads' clash with Thorpe the only top-flight game.

Nomads showed why they are six places above their opponents by beating them by a comfortable scoreline of 5-2.

James Edmond scored a brace, while Danny Snaith, Cameron Mulhearn and Chris Bilton also added for the Nomads. Curtis Swain scored Thorpe's two goals.

Division two leaders Selby Olympia were in action in the West Riding Vice-President's Cup but were unable to progress after a 5-1 defeat to Preston United.

Division two's second-placed Hambleton put pressure on at the top with a 5-0 win over Beeswing. Hambleton were the better team for the whole 90 minutes and deserved the three points.

Third-placed Haxby United succumbed to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Wentworth. Rob Forrester netted a hat-trick for Wentworth and Dan Franks also netted to give Wentworth the win.

York Medics made it an impressive fourth win in a row, helping them climb a place and leapfrog their opponents Elmpark.

The game was level at half-time but Medics managed to score four goals in the second half to win the game 4-0. Greg Chambers bagged a brace while Matthew Fortnam and Henry Lonsdale also netted.
