SCARBOROUGH Athletic signing Lewis Dennison is keen to help them "stay high up in the table" after making his debut in the New Year win over former club Goole.

The 21-year-old attacker joined the Seadogs just before the game, and came off the bench in a 2-0 win which put Steve Kittrick's men fourth in Evo-Stik League division one north ahead of tomorrow's trip to basement boys Burscough.

Boro are Dennison's third club so far this season.

"It’s great to be at Scarborough and to come on to make my debut straight away," he told the club's website. "I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead and helping the club stay high up in the league table.

“It’s been a strange season for me personally. After starting out at (Northern Counties East League club) Brigg and playing there for about a month, Dave Anderson asked me to make the step up to the Evo-Stik and come to Goole. I’ve scored a few goals and caught the eye of Steve, so I hope I can repay the faith he’s shown in me."

He added: “I got a bit of stick when I told the Goole lads I would be joining Scarborough, so I was pleased to play a part in getting us through to the win."

Dennison admits his first task will be to force his way into the starting 11.

“First of all I need to get into the team, so when I get the opportunity to impress as a sub or in training I need to make sure I show the manager what I can do."

Meanwhile, mid-table Tadcaster Albion host fellow mid-table side Colne looking to kickstart their new year.

Three late goals saw the stuttering Brewers blown away 5-1 at Farsley Celtic on Bank Holiday Monday.

It was a sixth defeat in the last eight games, a run which has seen Taddy slip from the promotion frame into the bottom half, looking over their shoulders at the drop zone. Indeed, they have won only three times since September.

Colne, conversely, are unbeaten in their last four league games and now sit tenth.
