SCARBOROUGH Athletic boss Steve Kittrick wants Tadcaster Albion to face a backlash when the two sides clash at Ings Lane today.

The former Evo-Stik League division one north leaders have lost to Colne and Radcliffe Borough in their last two games and now sit sixth, four points behind Lancaster City who also have four games in hand.

“People are frustrated and I am frustrated,” said Kittrick. “But everyone wants to beat this club and that carries a massive weight.

“We have to bounce back and be positive. If we do that, these last two games will be forgotten about."

He added: “It will be a good spectacle (against Tadcaster). Their pitch is like a carpet so we can play football. They have good players and we have good players.”

Mid-table Tadcaster, meanwhile, go into the game on the back of successive wins, having followed last week's league victory over Radcliffe Borough with a 5-1 West Riding County Cup defeat of Northern Counties East League outfit Yorkshire Amateur.

They had previously been without a win in six.

Boss Billy Miller made six changes in midweek, with Jonathan Greening returning while Jordan Armstrong, Liam Shepherd, Fatlum Ibrahimi, Adam Baker and Conor Sellars were handed starts.

Former Premier League star Jonathan Greening went on to net a second-half hat-trick as the Brewers eased through to a tie with Silsden.

Taddy deservedly went ahead through captain for the night Andy Milne, who controlled Josh Barrett’s flick-on before lashing home. Milne's night ended early, though, departing with a knee injury before half-time.

Amateur threatened on the resumption but were undone when Albion sub Jason Mycoe’s free-kick was headed towards the penalty spot by Ibrahimi and Greening's exquisite overhead kick made it 2-0.

The Leeds outfit responded quickly, Carl Heard turning in the rebound from Gary Stevens' save.

It would have been 2-2 just 30 seconds later, too, but for a point-blank stop from Stevens.

Instead, the tie was all but ended in the 74th minute, as Greening headed in sub Tom Corner's cross.

He then completed his hat-trick from the spot having forced a handball with a clever flick.

Greening, revelling in a more attacking role, could have had more, and Taddy did score again on full-time as Corner raced goalwards and fired low into the net.

Harrogate Town also comfortably progressed, with a 4-1 win over Campion, despite making eight changes.

Marcus Day, Wayne Brooksby, Chib Chilaka and Danny Ellisadding netted to seal a home time with 2016 winners Bradford Park Avenue in the next round.

Town resume their National League North campaign today at home to Stockport County, the first of a festive double-header against the fallen Football League outfit.

Ben Parker, Danny Ellis and Tom Platt, back from lengthy lay-offs, are all in contention again.
