HOUNDS, who play in the Fastpack Ltd York Sunday Morning League, have reached the final of the JP Blows Barkston Ash FA Sunday Cup.

The Selby club beat Bardsley 6-4 in the semi-final, with Chris Jackson (2), Jack Healey (2), Elliott Precious and Jamie England getting the goals.

Fellow York Sunday Morning League outfit Bramham lost their semi-final at home to Swillington Welfare.

Meanwhile, in division one, Wigginton Grasshoppers went level on points with leaders Malt Shovel thanks to a 9-4 goal fest against NUR.

Wigginton romped into a 6-1 half-time lead, with Jamie Willstrop and Harry Clapham scoring a brace each, and Steve Jarvis and Michael Clancy also on target.

Both teams scored three times in the second half, with Tom Metcalfe, Terry Taylor and John Cavanagh getting Grasshoppers' goals.

NUR’s marksmen were Danny Cotton (2), Nicky Fletcher and Gary Stephenson.

Malt Shovel’s game was called off.

York Nomads Society fought back from 1-0 down at the break to beat Cliffe 3-1 thanks to goals by Cameron Mulhearn (2) and Matt Hattee.

Bubwith White Swan moved up a place to fourth by beating Brayton 3-1.

Brayton’s goalkeeper was struggling with injury and Bubwith took advantage by opening the scoring after half an hour.

The keeper was soon substituted, with Brayton then managing to equalise with a goal from Joe Krygsman.

Bubwith came out stronger in the second half, though, and two further goals banked the three points.

Selby Olympia made it ten out of ten in division two by beating York Medics 3-1.

Olympia had a 2-0 lead at half-time with both teams bagging a goal in the second period.

The league’s top scorer, Tom Lazenby, was again on target for the leaders, with strikes by Jamie Brace and Sam McAllister helping them continue their 100 per cent record. Daniel McNorton scored for Medics.

Haxby United jumped over Beeswing into second place by beating them 6-2.

Hambleton rose to third with a few games in hand on their rivals with a 5-1 win over Elmpark, whose consolation goal came from Dan Davison.

Bottom-of-the-table Knapton Lions made it two wins in a row by beating Wentworth 5-2.

The game was fairly close going into half-time with Sam Wright scoring a header and Daniel Murray scoring from a corner for the Lions, while Dan Mullen's reply made 2-1 at the interval.

The second half saw two substitutions from Knapton and they paid dividends with Harry Junior scoring from a corner and substitute Pasainey Kanyi scoring a penalty and also setting up Wright’s second. Peter Baird bagged Wentworth’s second.
