PICKERING Town are up to fourth in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League premier division.

It was debatable whether their match at the Recreation Club should have gone beyond half-time due to the fog.

However, it did, and the Pikes won 2-1 against AFC Mansfield, with Ryan Blott (58min) and Nathan Kamara (65) netting for the hosts and Oliver Fearon (70) replying.

Town, who have climbed above Albion Sports, have now won four straight league matches, while it was a third successive defeat for the Bulls.

In division one, there was a fine home victory for Selby Town, who defeated high-flying visitors Grimsby Borough 2-1.

Jason Crisp bagged both Selby goals in the 39th and 66th minutes, Daniel Trott equalising for Borough, who drop down to fourth, a minute after Crisp's first.

Selby stay 11th, while Knaresborough Town remain seventh, despite a 3-1 home setback against Dronfield Town, for whom Blake Owen scored a hat-trick with goals in the 42nd and 58th minutes following a 40th-minute penalty.

Jonathan Maullin had put the home side ahead in the 35th minute.

The big match in Evo-Stik division one north was at Glossop North End, who drew level on points with leaders Scarborough Athletic after defeating the visitors 2-1.

Ben Richardson (16) and Jamie Rainford (68) were on target for North End, who went second as they have a goal difference of plus eight compared to Athletic's plus 11, Jameel Ible getting their consolation in the 90th minute.

North End, however, have two games in hand, although the real threats could be Farsley Celtic and Lancaster City.

Harrogate Town and Salford City shared four goals in the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy at the CNG Stadium.

Lloyd Kerry, after two minutes, and Luke Shiels, on half-time, put Town ahead, only for Jamie Poole (18) and Michael Nottingham (67) to equalise and force a replay tomorrow night.
