TADCASTER Albion will hope the lights don't go out for them again tomorrow after a late, late blow in midweek.

The Brewers' Evo-Stik League premier division match with Ossett Town kicked off an hour late after floodlight failure and it ended with the visitors stealing the spoils with a stoppage-time sucker punch strike from Danny Frost against the run of play.

Taddy - who could have drawn level with their guests with victory but instead remain in mid-table with Ossett rising to fourth - host sixth-placed Brighouse tomorrow.

Manager Billy Miller made two changes in midweek, Fatlum Ibrahimi and fit-again Tom Corner starting, with Josh Greening unavailable and Gregg Anderson injured.

Despite the long delay, both sides made bright starts, Ossett having the better of the early exchanges before Taddy took charge, with chances soon coming thick and fast.

Conor Sellars pulled a left-foot strike wide, Adam Baker tested Town stopper Leigh Overton with a crisp shot, and Tom Corner’s ferocious strike was deflected to Rob Youhill, only he could not flick the ball past the keeper.

Baker’s clever flick soon set Ibrahimi away and he slid Sellars in behind. The impressive winger touched past the advancing keeper but saw his strike hooked off the line by Ashley Jackson.

From the corner, Andy Milne's downward header bounced up and and onto the top of the crossbar.

The visitors were struggling to deal with Taddy’s quick intricate forward play, but the deadlock could not be broken.

Sellars again got in behind thanks to Youhill's inviting ball but he skewed wide, while the inspired Overton kept his goal intact again when palming away Corner's header.

The closest Ossett came was in the 35th minute when Ridley’s high cross was flicked inches wide.

The second half saw Sellars' frustrations continue.

His deflected effort was almost put into his own goal by Andy Hawksworth but the defender just beat Sellars to the ball and scooped it off the line.

Sellars then almost gifted the away side a goal - being dispossessed by Sam Wright who sent Danny Frost through on goal. The usually lethal frontman was off target.

Ossett then cleared off the line for a third time, denying Andy Milne a tap-in after Sellars had squeezed the ball through Overton’s legs from an acute angle.

The match calmed and chances dried up, before Overton superbly kept out Rob Youhill’s vicious strike.

Then came the sucker punch. Josh Barrett's unfortunate slice dropped to Frost who won the game with Ossett's first shot on target.

Scarborough Athletic stayed at the summit after Farsley Celtic's midweek win over Glossop North End.

Farsley went second, two points behind the Seadogs with four games in hand, while Glossop - Boro's hosts in a big game tomorrow - slipped to fifth, still only three points in arrears in a tightly-packed top half.

Meanwhile, Harrogate Town welcome Salford City tomorrow seeking an upturn in fortunes and a debut appearance in the FA Trophy first round proper.

Gate have bagged just one win in nine outings, their only other National League North point in that time coming in a goalless draw at Salford three weeks ago. The Moor Lane outfit have won all their fixtures since to go seventh, while early pacesetters Town now lie 11th.
