BRAYTON and Hounds went head-to-head in The Fastpack Ltd York Sunday Morning League Cup.

The division one sides haven’t met each other in the league yet this season.

And the difference was Sam Cable with a single goal in each half for Hounds, enabling them to progress to the next round with a 2-0 win.

In division one, Bubwith White Swan faced up against NUR.

Bubwith exerted plenty of the pressure in the first half and a brilliant goal from Leon Wood gave them the lead at half-time.

NUR came out a better team after the break and scored their equaliser from a free-kick with Rob Constable heading home to make the final score 1-1.

Selby Olympia continued their amazing run of winning every game in division two, beating Rawcliffe Crusaders 5-1.

Selby scored four in the first half, while both teams scored a single goal each in the second period. Goals for Selby came from Sam McAllister (2), Tom Lazenby, George Wojcik and Richard Milner.

Second in the league Haxby United had a game to forget with just 10 men on the pitch when losing 7-2 to Wentworth.

Wentworth headed into the break 2-1 up, but the second half showed the man advantage with them adding a further five goals to Haxby’s single effort.

Dan Mullen scored a hat trick, with substitute Dom Green and Peter Baird also netting braces. Haxby’s goals came from Jonny Jackson and Gareth Harton.

Beeswing continued their climb up the table by moving into third place with a 5-4 win over York Medics.

Beeswing’s goals came from a hat-trick from Alex Day, a single goal from Carl Falcone and an own goal. Matthew Fortnam, Greg Chambers, Vinayak Prasad and Alex Renwick hit the mark for the Medics.

Bramham climbed two places in the table by beating Knapton Lions 9-1.

Bramham came out firing, scoring five goals in the first 20 minutes. The game settled down but Bramham managed to grab another before half-time to take a 6-0 lead into the break.

The second half saw Bramham add another two goals, before Knapton managed to net their only goal of the game. However, Bramham had the last word with their ninth.

Bramham goals came from an Adam Fields hat-trick, two from Chris Plews, and single efforts from Anthony Walsh, Henry Blythe, Mike Tasker and Danny Bass. Knapton’s only goal came from Declan Richardson.
