TADCASTER Albion manager Billy Miller says his side needs to ‘put things right quickly’ after back-to-back defeats in the FA Cup and Evo-Stik first division north.

The Brewers, who host Radcliffe Borough tomorrow, slipped to 13th in the table when losing at Ossett Town on Tuesday night.

They also waved farewell to the FA Cup last weekend when losing at home to Farsley Celtic in the second qualifying round.

Miller had never previously lost consecutive games during his 13 month reign as Albion manager.

“As much as winning becomes a habit, losing becomes a habit as well,” he said.

“In the space of a week, we have gone from the highs of a really good start to being ‘under the cosh’. We have got to put it right quickly.”

Miller says his players have to adapt their style of football if they are to challenge for promotion.

“We are still trying to pass teams off the park which is not going to work at this level of football,” he said.

“Sometimes, in this league, you have to play for position and then play for possession.”

Striker Tom Corner is likely to be out of action for two weeks after badly bruising his pelvis against Ossett.

Selby Town moved up to 15th in the Northern Counties East League division one in midweek following victory over Pontefract Collieries. Tomorrow, they go in search of swift revenge over Worsborough Bridge Athletic who they lost to in the league just three weeks ago at home. The fixture was re-scheduled because original opponents, Glasshoughton, are involved in the FA Vase.

Knaresborough Town visit Brigg Town.

Harrogate Town return to league action when they host Gloucester City in National League North. Town, who are joint-top of the table, secured an FA Cup third round qualifying tie against FC United of Manchester in midweek courtesy of a replay victory over Bridlington Town. Both Andi Thanoj and Luke Shiels are doubtful after picking up knocks.

Midfielder James Bennett has returned to Pickering Town after an extended summer lay-off working on his fitness.

The former Scarborough Athletic player, 28, will not be involved in tomorrow’s FA Vase second qualifying round tie at Consett AFC.

The Pikes have also signed young defender Owen Marshall, 16, from York and District side Wigginton.

New signing Jules Gabbiadini, meanwhile, is still awaiting international clearance after moving from the USA.

Harrogate Railway are looking to bounce back from a midweek defeat by Worksop Town when they host Charnock Richard in the FA Vase tomorrow.
