BRAYTON got off to a flying start in the Fastpack York Sunday Morning League against last season's runners-up Hounds FC – thanks to a 10th-minute goal from Patrick Guest.

Brayton doubled their lead six minutes later with another Guest finish.

Hounds responded and won a penalty in the 43rd minute, only to see Edgehill save away to his left.

The second half belonged to Hounds, who bombarded the Brayton goal and were finally rewarded in the 60th minute when Simon Houlder struck.

Bradley Hall levelled the game five minutes later before adding Hounds' third in the 80th minute. Michael Carmody sealed an excellent comeback for the visitors, wrapping up a 4-2 win five minutes from time.

Michael Cussans was on fire for Malt Shovel as they registered a 6-1 success over Thorpe United.

The striker hit a hat-trick, while Josh Brigham, Harry Brigham and Oliver O'Neill also found the net.

In division two, Alex Day bagged a brace in Beeswing's 4-1 win at Wentworth. Nick Horne and Carl Falcone also netted for the visitors.

In the clash of the league's new sides, Elm Park defeated Rawcliffe Crusaders 3-2.

In the Fastpack Senior Challenge Trophy, goals from Joe Dale (3) and Craig Hargreaves saw York Nomads through to round two with a 4-1 win over NUR.
