CHRIS DYSON was the star turn as Huntington Rovers went second in the York Minster Engineering League premier division after a commanding 3-0 midweek triumph over potential title rivals Dunnington.

Dyson put the hosts ahead with an excellent 25-yard strike after 35 minutes and doubled his tally after the restart.

The hitman then broke clear once again and, while found himself alone against the Dunnington defence, he created space to fire home from the edge of the box, capping a decisive man-of-the-match performance as his team made it four wins out of four.

Tadcaster Magnets experienced the highs and lows of the top flight within the space of three days.

On Monday, Magnets defeated hosts F1 Racing 3-2.

As reported, Chris Smith put F1 ahead just before the interval but a Kieran Harris strike and a goal from Adam Udakis put Magnets in control. Two minutes from time, Neil Yeowart's calm finish levelled the scores, only to see another Udakis blockbuster seal maximum points for the Tadcaster side.

Wednesday saw a different result for Magnets, though, as they succumbed to local rivals Church Fenton White Horse 1-0 - making it four wins from four for White Horse and keeping them above Huntington on goal-difference.

Dringhouses and Osbaldwick shared the spoils and six goals after a fast-paced game at St Helens Road.

Michael Hattee headed Osbaldwick in front early on before Liam Wingfield scored his first goal for the club, sending home an intelligent free-kick from a narrow angle.

After the break, a Dave Watson brace levelled matters before Joe Rawcliffe sent Dringhouses into the lead late on.

Sam Shipley then thundered in a pinpoint free-kick to produce a dramatic finish and earn Osso a point.

Robin Bedford gave Copmanthorpe a half-time lead at home to Riccall United, an advantage that was doubled in the second period thanks to a Tom Paley strike.

Riccall came back and halved the deficit through Ben Yorke but, despite late pressure, they could not find a leveller.

Sporting Knavesmire maintained their perfect start in the premier division, defeating York RI with a second-half goal from Andrew Simpson.
