TADCASTER Albion aim to leave the Toolstation Northern Counties East League with fond memories – and two trophies.

The Brewers, who will play in the Evo-Stik division one north next season, have already secured the NCEL premier league title and are aiming to complete their season with a league and cup double.

They meet Cleethorpes in the league cup final at Garforth FC, tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).

Albion have had the chance to let the euphoria surrounding their title win settle down, and manager Billy Miller says they have been able to put in some hard training sessions in preparation for this tie.

Miller has a high regard for cup opponents Cleethorpes, describing them as 'one of the best teams' they faced during the league season.

He said: "Both of the games we played against them were really close and went down to the wire – they are a well organised and disciplined side"

The Lincolnshire team, known as the Owls, had been contesting the championship with Tadcaster for most of the season until falling away in the final two weeks. They eventually finished third.

Cleethorpes are one of the few sides to have troubled Tadcaster in both league games. Albion succumbed to a single late goal away in October, while the reverse fixture ended in a scoreless stalemate at the i2i Stadium two months ago.

Marc Cooper, who finished with 35 league and cup goals, and Brody Robinson (30) will be among the Owls players the Tad defenders will have to keep quiet.

Tadcaster, though, have their own threat in Josh Greening who wasn't that far behind on 27 goals for the season.

As well as claiming Albion's Golden Boot award, he won the club's player's player of the year and the management's award at the club's presentation night last weekend. He also scored in Tadcaster's semi-final 2-1 win at Albion Sports.

Afterwards, Miller declared: "Despite all the football we have played this season, in every game we have set out our values and standards and we will keep them to the very last kick of the game in the cup tie."
