THE destination of the York Sunday Morning League division one title remains in the balance after the top two, Hounds and Wigginton Grasshoppers drew 2-2 on Thursday night.

If Hounds now win their two games on Sunday and Tuesday, the sides will square up again at Wigginton next Thursday night at 6.30pm to fight it out for the title.

The first half of a fast-paced game at Selby Town's ground saw few clearcut chances and plenty of long balls as both teams struggled to produce much flowing football.

Hounds shot out of the blocks in the second period, though, Alan Jackson flicking the ball on to brother Chris to smash home from six yards out, immediately after the restart.

Five minutes later, Wiggy were level, Josh Luckhurst finding Jordan Holt, the latter volleying home from eight yards.

Holt was the hero again ten minutes later, finding the net with a low free kick from 20 yards.

Chances followed at both ends but it was to be Hounds who scored the last goal of the game, Oliver Bloxman heading home a corner to seal the draw.

That leveller kept them eight points behind Hoppers in the table, with those two games in hand.
