TADCASTER Albion, who wrapped up the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division title on Thursday night with a 2-1 home victory over Armthorpe Welfare, finished their league matches with a topsy-turvy match against Athersley Recreation.

The South Yorkshire club, who are only five points above a relegation berth, surged into a 3-0 lead in the opening 41 minutes via Danny Cawley, Kai Hancock and McCauley Shilito.

However, The Brewers rallied to win 4-3 thanks to second-half goals from Carl Stewart, Conor Sellars, Jimmy Beadle and George Conway ahead of being officially presented with the trophy.

Tadcaster are now seeking a double when they host Albion Sports tomorrow (Tuesday) in a League Cup semi-final, with the final against Bridlington Town or Cleethorpes Town, scheduled for Garforth Town on Saturday, May 14.

Meanwhile, a second-half Ryan Cooper brace gave sixth-placed Pickering Town a 2-1 victory at Maltby Main, who had taken the lead via Ryan Carroll just before the interval.

In Vanarama National League North, Harrogate Town won 5-0 win at home against relegated Corby Town to finish fourth – their highest ever league placing.

In front of a crowd of 1,025, a third-minute penalty by Brendon Daniels settled the nerves.

Then another goal from Daniel four minutes later, plus efforts from Lloyd Kerry on 16 minutes, a Jack Draper own goal after 66 minutes and a Jack Emmett solo nine minutes from time sealed the points needed to secure a top-four berth.

Harrogate now meet AFC Fylde in the play-offs, with the home leg on Wednesday and the away leg next Sunday.
