KIRKBYMOORSIDE moved to within six points of division two leaders Thorpe United following a 5-3 defeat of Bishopthorpe United.

United's Scott Goldsmith fired home from the edge of the area in the first minute after the Kirkby defence had failed to clear, but the lead lasted just three minutes as a Kirkby break allowed Danny Butterworth to tee up Josh Butler.

Kirkbymoorside took the lead on the half-hour through Jack Dowson's powerful 25-yard drive into the bottom corner.

Seven minutes later, Bish were back level, Andy Seagher converting a penalty following an incident in the box.

But Kirkby still managed a half-time lead as a quick response saw Jimmy Harper cross for Karl Richardson to head home.

The visitors went further clear after 57 minutes when Jason Brown bundled a Dowson corner over the line.

A second Seagher penalty made it 4-3 with five minutes to go but any Kirkby concerns were soon dispelled when Aaron Rivis crossed for his brother Ryan to head home.

Darren Heels and Myron Turbine put Stamford Bridge two up against Strensall but a Liam Wingfield double after the break levelled the match.

Alex Smith restored the home side’s lead only to see a red card awarded and Strensall equalise once again, as Wingfield completed his hat-trick from the spot.

Joe Wilkinson and Joe Davison then fired home to give Strensall a 5-3 victory as they utilised their extra man to great effect.

James Gilbertson hit a personal tally of five goals as Haxby United beat Fulford United 8-2.

Dringhouses hit back with a fantastic strike from Sam Ripley-Kitson but Lee Bunce wrapped up the points with 20 minutes left.
