A TOP-10 finish is the goal for Selby Town in Toolstation Northern Counties East League division one – a reasonable aim with 11th-placed Town only two points behind Yorkshire Amateur with three games in hand.

Fans favourites Danny Bunch and Nick Thompson returned to the side and bolstered the midfield in midweek, helping them to a 4-0 win against Winterton.

Selby were given a boost by the form of Chris Jackson, who struck a hat-trick to make up for a missed penalty earlier in the contest.

However, they will have to gather their resources for a tough challenge tomorrow as fourth-placed AFC Emley arrive at the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium. The depth of Selby's squad will also be tested with Saturday and midweek matches scheduled until the end of the season.

Next Tuesday, Selby head to Leeds to meet nearest rivals Yorkshire Amateur.

A fixture anomaly in Evo-Stik division one north sees Scarborough Athletic travel to Lancaster City tomorrow before hosting them in Bridlington next Saturday.

Scarborough will be seeking to net points from both matches to consolidate their 17th place which should assure them of safety.

Second-bottom Harrogate Railway Athletic are involved in a basement battle against New Mills, who have only mustered two points all season.

Harrogate have to close a five-point gap on their nearest rivals, Ossett Town, who have played two less than Railway.

Harrogate Town, fourth in the Vanarama National League North, head to mid-table Alfreton tomorrow.
