THORPE UNITED displayed their York Minster Engineering League division two title credentials with a convincing 6-0 demolition of Bishopthorpe United.

Mike Braithwaite and Martin Howson bagged a brace apiece in the win with Andrew Wilson also on target.

Thorpe now sit five points behind leaders Barmby Moor and have four games in hand.

Barmby Moor were held at third placed Haxby United with eight goals shared between the sides. Liam Booth, Curtis Barker, Shaun Elvidge and Olly Cooper were on the mark for the away team.

Strensall recovered after a recent dip in form to beat Fulford FC United 8-3.

Johnny Cooper (2), Charlie Coupland, Josh Winn, Danny Mason, Jason Heslop, Callum Bryce and Jack Bell shared the away haul.

Wilberfoss made it seven from seven following a 3-2 triumph at Cawood.

Olly Newby, Mark Willoughby and Phil O'Reilly all struck for the division three leaders.

Second placed Moor Lane were made to fight in the first half by a stubborn Bubwith side, going in with a narrow 3-2 lead at the break.

But Bubwith capitulated in the second period as Moor Lane ran riot and emerged 8-2 victors. Chris McCluskie, Christian Gorgol and Patrick Zimer all notched twice with Lewis Bootland and Danny Rogers also finding the target.

Third placed South Milford were held 4-4 by visitors Civil Service. The home side raced into a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes. Tom Wright then gave Civil Service a lifeline, although South Milford restored their two-goal cushion before the break.

Carl Shepherd and Jason Hogg then found the target to level the scores before South Milford took a 4-3 lead late in the game. An own goal just before the end gave Civil Service a well-deserved point.

Selby Olympia defeated Rufforth United 4-3, while there were no goals in the game between Rufforth United and Jorvik Blades.

With division four leaders Heworth Green's game postponed, The Raj FC closed the gap at the top of the league to eight points with two games in hand on their rivals.

Arron Rose headed home a James Bruns cross early on and The Raj doubled their lead twenty minutes into the second half through a Shane Bogg thunderbolt.

Luke Smith then hit a 30 yard wonder strike to make it 2-1 before Bogg added his second and The Raj's third to restore their two-goal lead. A defensive mix-up made it 3-2 but The Raj clung on for the victory and the points.

Third-placed Pollington scored a 5-1 win over Malt Shovel.

Stuart Harrison (2), Mark Baguley, Brian Robertson and Tom Schindler were all on target.

Gary Watkins put New York WMC 1-0 in front against Wheldrake but Dave Metcalfe, Asley Armitage and Ryan Wilby all struck for the visitors as they took a 3-1 lead. Another Watkins goal wasn't enough to save the New York Club as they went down 3-2.

HUNTINGTON Rovers maintained their three point lead over defending champions Dunnington with a 7-2 victory over Copmanthorpe in York Minster Engineering League Reserve 'A'.

Strikes from Lee Bunce (2), Ashley Hill, Peter Laidlaw, Kieran Flanagan and Liam Flanagan, plus an own goal, made up their tally.

Nick May and Olly Baron fired Cop's replies.

Dunnington, who have two games in hand, fired three second-half goals to sink Wigginton Grasshoppers.

Third placed Thorpe United triumphed at Harrison Signs 4-3, the home side's goals coming from Lee Downham and a brace from Warren Lowe.

Tadcaster Magnets gained an invaluable three points after a 3-0 success at Dringhouses.

A solitary goal from Adam Cook helped to maintain Malton & Norton's nine point lead in Reserve 'B'. They beat rivals Tockwith 1-0.

Hemingbrough keep up the chase in second, after taking all three points from a 5-2 win over Haxby United.

Brooklyn defeated Stamford Bridge 3-1 and Easingwold gained a comfortable 4-1 success over Pocklington Town.

It was business as usual for the top three teams in Reserve 'C' as Osbaldwick, Civil Service and F1 Racing all registered wins. Osbaldwick had no trouble putting Malt Shovel to the sword as Mark Triffitt (3), Nick Lawrie (2), Matty O'Connell, Oliver Green and Will Hall combined to seal an 8-1 success.

James Shaw put Civil Service ahead against Wilberfoss but Charlie Dodds levelled soon after.

Service restored their lead through Matty Williams only for Sam McAllister to equalise on the stroke of half-time. Dan Craig and Nick Dunlop wrapped up a 4-2 win in the second half.

George Cooper (2), Chris Helm, Ben Calverley and 16-year-old Nathaniel Yeomans were on target for F1 Racing as they defeated Rufforth 5-1. John MacKenzie replied.
