TADCASTER Albion are focussing on their own strengths ahead of a tough FA Vase assignment at Northern League side Sunderland RCA.

The Northern Counties East League premier division leaders travel to Wearside expecting a "really difficult" third round tie, according to manager Billy Miller.

He said: “The Northern League is traditionally very strong and Sunderland have done quite well in it.

“They have beaten every team they have come across from our league.

“We are expecting a tough encounter, but must also focus on our own abilities. We have trained hard as usual and the team spirit and cohesion is fantastic.

“Hopefully we can give our travelling army something to shout about.”

Albion have not seen league action for almost a month due to a spate of postponements. Their last league game was their 4-0 defeat of Thackley in mid-November.

The Brewers reached the quarter final of the Vase last season, a run which the ex-Harrogate Railway chief described as a "fairytale".

“We are obviously looking to repeat last season” Miller added.

“Paul Marshall (the then manager) did phenomenally well to get them that fair, it was a fairytale story. As much as we are looking to emulate that, we are keeping our feet on the ground and taking one game at a time, as you always have to in cup football.”

Meanwhile, Marshall’s current club, Pickering Town, host Nostell Miners Welfare in the NCEL premier division.

Although the Pikes suffered a setback in their last outing at Retford, where they lost 1-0, they will be confident of getting a result tomorrow against a side who have won just once in 20 games.

In division one, Knaresborough Town may be expecting goals as they host stragglers Lincoln Moorlands Railway, a team they thrashed 6-0 away in September and who are cast adrift at the bottom.

Town go into the game on the back of a 2-1 midweek win at lowly Worsbrough Bridge courtesy of a Ben Clayton strike and match-winning own goal by Kyle Spooner.

Harrogate Town go to Stalybridge Celtic needing a win to return to the play-off positions in National League North after the disappointing 2-1 defeat at gusty Gainsborough last week.

Town fielded a strong 11 in the West Riding County Cup quarter-final against Barnoldswick in midweek and found the goal touch as Dominic Knowles (2), Jordan Thewlis, Andy Gascoigne (2) and man-of-the-match Lewis Turner netted in a 6-1 win.

Struggling Harrogate Railway host Trafford in Evo-Stik League division one north, while Scarborough Athletic go to Lancaster.
