FIRST half goals from Liam Ormsby, Jimmy Beadle and Matt Heath helped Tadcaster Albion blow Nostell Miners Welfare away 4-0 to stay at the summit of the Northern Counties East League premier division.

Ormsby added his second from the spot after the break but, if the Brewers had been more ruthless, they could have scored as many as they liked at Ings Lane.

It was evident from the outset that Nostell had a huge task on their hands as Taddy dominated the play. Their first effort on goal came in the ninth minute as Josh Greening's free-kick was just over the bar.

Ormsby did better, curling in a sweet free-kick into the top left hand corner with Nostell goalkeeper Edward Hall appearing to have been wrong-footed.

It was a matter of when the home side's next goal would come and it arrived in the 38th minute through top scorer, and former York City player, Jimmy Beadle.

Dan Clayton rolled the ball across to him and, after taking one touch, Beadle smashed his shot past a diving Hall from at least 25 yards.

The Brewers made it 3-0 right on the stroke of half-time.

A Tad corner was cleared by the visitors but a weak pass allowed Nick Black to beat Max Elliott to the ball. The striker unselfishly squared it to centre-back Heath, still up from the corner, and he had the simple task of rolling the ball into the empty net.

Manager Billy Miller's men started the second half where they had left off and they thought they had a fourth goal just three minutes in.

Beadle again hammered home from the outside of the box from Greening's flick but was ruled to have been in an offside position.

The fourth did arrive eight minutes later and it came from the spot.

Black led the line tremendously with tireless running down the channels and his strength, pace and power allowed him to get the better of Franck Zalo. The Nostell defender bundled him to the ground leaving referee David Storrie no choice but to award a penalty.

Ormsby slotted into the bottom right corner, sending Hall the wrong way.

The second half continued to be completely one-way traffic as the visitors struggled to hold onto the ball for more than three passes. Tadcaster's midfield of Ormsby and Jason Mycoe were outstanding in hunting the ball off their opponents.

Beadle saw a second disallowed goal flagged offside midway through the half after some more superb football by Millers's men and, as they tried to extend their advantage, Ormsby nearly completed a hat-trick of set-piece goals.

His free-kick from the left-hand side was only just pushed away by the Nostell stopper.
