SPORTING Knavesmire completed an impressive unbeaten season with an 8-1 win over Bishop Wilton in York Minster Engineering League division two, and relegated their opponents in the process.

James Windle led the scoring with a hat-trick, while Danny Owers and Jake Duckworth weighed in with braces. Danny Smith rounded off the Knavesmire scoring, with Jack Holman on target for Bishop Wilton.

Rawcliffe left themselves one win from promotion to division one with a 3-1 win at Strensall. Josh Winn was on target for the home side, but a double-strike from 16-year-old Niall Smallwood and a Johnny Moss free-kick saw Rawcliffe edge closer.

Kieran Harris and Nathan Green bagged two goals apiece as Haxby United gained a 5-0 success over relegated Wilberfoss.

Fulford escaped the drop with a 5-2 triumph over visiting Ouseburn.

Chris Harkin (3), Matthew Howden (2) and Andrew Wilson found the net for Thorpe United in their 6-3 victory at Bishopthorpe United.

Kirkbymoorside won the battle of the promoted sides in division three with a 3-0 triumph over Stamford Bridge.

The win sees Kirkby secure their second successive championship.

In division four, Si Houlder’s goal was not enough for Bubwith White Swan as they succumbed to a 3-1 loss against champions Cawood.

Wheldrake and Wetherby Athletic shared the points after a 2-2 draw.

James Smith weighed in with two goals for Wheldrake.

Dringhouses are the new reserve ‘A’ champions despite only managing a 2-2 draw at Old Malton St Mary’s.

James Tiffney and Tom Hoggard were on target for Malton.

Easingwold picked up their third victory of the season, winning 1-0 against York RI thanks to a sublime individual goal from Scott Dixon.

Copmanthorpe won 5-2 against Riccall to leapfrog their opponents into fifth. Jamie England struck twice for the visitors.

In reserve ‘B’, Malton & Norton won their derby against Brooklyn 1-0 to gain a two-point advantage in the battle to avoid the drop to reserve ‘C’.

Poppleton United picked up three points to pull clear of the drop zone.

The only game in reserve ‘C’ saw Lewis Williams and Tom Ellwood on target as Cliffe earned a point from a 2-2 draw with Civil Service.
