TADCASTER ALBION must collect three points against Athersley Recreation tomorrow or their quest for the Northern Counties East League premier division crown is over.

That is the view of manager Paul Marshall as his Brewers side bid to end a six-game run without a win.

Taddy lost their West Riding County Cup semi-final replay 4-0 against Bradford Park Avenue on Wednesday night but the boss saw much to please him as his side performed manfully against the Conference North outfit.

Now in third in the premier division table, but buoyed after title chasing Shaw Lane Aquaforce suffered a shock midweek loss to Liversedge, Marshall believes it is still all to play for in the race for the title. But they must see off Athersley first.

“The loss to Highworth definitely knocked everyone and it has taken a couple of weeks to get over it,”

Marshall said. “The game against Bradford was confidence boosting.

“Results have gone for us this week. There are five teams still thinking they can win the title. There will be shocks and we will be going all guns blazing.

“If we don’t get three points tomorrow I would think that would be it.

“If we can, we can get a spring back in our step and move on.”

Marshall has a full squad to choose from with Denny Ingram returning after suffering a slight hamstring strain that kept him out of the Bradford Park Avenue clash.
